Saturday Stamp-a-Stack

This afternoon, I spent the afternoon with a great group of ladies. Pete had us over for a stamp-a-stack. First of all, our demo, Amanda, wasn't able to make it- her 6-year old son, Nate, had emergency surgery yesterday, so she was a little pre-occupied. She sent her husband to bring the projects and supplies to Pete so we'd still be able to hold the SAS. Here's a little message we sent Nate via Facebook:

Nate is home now and seems to be healing quickly. YAY, Nate!!

Here are the projects that we made at Pete's...even without directions and Amanda's guidance, I think we did pretty good!

This is a cute little treat holder made using Stampin' Up's Petal Cone die and the Mixed Bunch stamp set and Blossom punch from the Occasions catalog:

Next we made this beautiful "card" made using SU's Tea Shoppe stamp set, also available in the Occasions catalog.

Here's a close-up of the stick pin. It's SO pretty!

The "card" is attached to a plastic box. Inside the plastic box is a decorated piece of cardstock with a couple tea bags attached. This is also adorable with chocolate treats inside, too! My friend, Gloria, gave me a couple of these boxes and I can't wait to try this at home!

Thank you to Pete for opening her home to us (and for "sharing" her 2 beautiful cats with us!) Thanks to Amanda for creating these fun projects. We missed you, but we're glad Nate is home and doing well!!!

A New Discovery!!

While looking around Split Coast Stampers today I stumbled upon a new-to-me stamp company called Sassy Studio Designs...and I think I'm in love!! These digi-images are beautifully drawn- innocent yet still sexy. Take a look at my first-ever Sassy Studio Design card:

Close up:

What a beautiful face. This card only took me about 30 minutes to make from concept to completion...the images color up beautifully. Won't this make a cute "Congratulations on your pregnancy" card?

Check out the Sassy Studio Designs blog and see what beautiful creations their design team has to share! And while you're at it, check out their store, too!!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop!!

Even though I've resigned my position on the Bombshell Design Team I do still LOVE my Bombshells! It's been a while since I've actually played with my Bombshell stamps, though, but what better way to get back into the groove than to be in the Hump Day Hop!!! You should have arrived here from the fabulous Kelli's blog. If you did, great, you're on the right track! If you didn't, make sure to go to the Bombshell Stamps Blog to start the hop at the beginning. You sure don't want to miss anything!!

This month, Alison, aka The Bombshell Hump Day Hottie, challenged us with this fabulous color combination:

From my best match, I used the following Stampin' Up colors: Pool Party, Cranberry Crisp, Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, and Taken with Teal. This is a beautiful color palette, but it scared me a little...they're some hard colors to get to mesh properly...but...in the end, I was happy with my creation:

I CASED the sketch from this fabulous card that I found on Splitcoast Stampers.

Stamps: Butterfly Queen
Papers: Pool Party, Cranberry Crisp, Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Taken with Teal, and Twitterpated DSP (Stampin' Up!), Neenah 80# white
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Swiss Dot embossing folder, Squares embossing folder (Tim Holtz), Oval Nestabilities, Copic Markers, scalloped border punch and embroidered border punch (Stampin' Up!), ruffled Old Olive ribbon (Stampin' Up!), buttons (American Collections), linen thread, pop dots, glue dots

Thanks for stopping by! Now, head on over to the uber-talented Alaine's blog to continue to be wowed!!

SMASH!

Well, back before Christmas I bought a SMASH book...and it sat...and I thought...and it started to collect dust. I just wasn't sure what to do with it! Well, my friend, Gloria, who I went to the Copic Certification Class with yesterday, had a great idea- to document our class in our SMASH book. So...not really knowing what I was doing, here are my first 2 pages in my SMASH book:

I printed out a picture of our group who went to the class. I added a copy of my certificate along with a picture of Marianne signing my certificate and the samples that we did while learning the different techniques. I guess there is no right and wrong to SMASHing. Now to figure out what else I can SMASH into there! :)

I'm Certifiable!!

...well, certified at least! Yesterday, a group of Meade Girls traveled the approximately 80 miles north to York, PA to attend the Copic Certification class being taught by the fabulously talented Marianne Walker...and I have this to prove it!

The class was so much fun and I've learned a lot about how to properly use my beloved Copic markers.

Now, we can't wait for the Intermediate Class to come around our area!!
