Another Meade Girls' Shoebox Swap = FUN!

If you are here for the SSD Blog Hop,
please click HERE

Yesterday, the Meade Girls got together for another mini shoebox swap...and wow, what great cards we made!!!

Here is the card I made to take using my brand new SU Hexagon embossing folder:

Here are the cards that the other ladies brought for us to make:

Sarah
(She used a clear static cling sheet and stamped directly onto that using
Stazon ink.  How cute!)

Angie
(MUST get this embossing folder!! Love the vintage feel of this card!)

Kimme
(Adorable Father's Day card!!)

Tracie
(look at that shimmer from the Pearl Ex!)

Michelle G.
(LOVE the bright colors on this one!!)

Amanda
(This card sure makes me want to be on a tropical
island somewhere! Gorgeous!)

Rose
(Not sure where she got this picture of me from, but
I adore this card!!  Paper pieced dress.)

Cindy
(Hard to get a good picture of this with all the glare from
the metallic papers.  Love the quilt pattern, but, boy, that
was a lot of cutting!)

Fran
(This one I LOVE!  The horse is actually fabric cut out
using Nestabilities and the Big Shot.  How COOL is that?!)

Jane
(Lattice edge card- haven't made one of these in years.
I had forgotten how fun it is to do!  Look at those
butterflies- SO delicate!)

Although we were missing some of our dear friends, we had a wonderfully fun time- good friends, good food and stamping all makes for a FABULOUS day!!  Thanks to Amanda for allowing us to invade her home once again!!!

DTBST #173- Fancy Folds

Welcome to another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday!  This week's challenge is "Fancy Folds".  Well, I'm not usually one to do a lot of fancy folds, so this really was a challenge for me!  I was looking around Split Coast Stampers' tutorials and ran across the Diamond Oragami Card and thought I could use  it  with SSD's Japan Honey image along with Graphic 45's Bird Song papers.  This is what I wound up with:.  This is the card "closed".  It makes it's own little envelope.

and opened...(it was really hard to photograph- sorry!)

Once I figured out how to score it properly (oops!), it went together pretty quickly and was fun to do.  I did learn one thing though- don't use a really good quality designer paper like Graphic 45.  Their papers are pretty thick, and when you score and fold it, it will crack along the fold.  Thinner DSP like Stampin' Up would work better.  Anyway, I'm happy with how it turned out and I hope you like it, too!

Now, head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs' blog to play along with us and show us YOUR fancy folds!!

Maryland City SBS

I spent the most part of today with a fabulous group of ladies at a mini shoebox swap. It's always a fun time!!  Here are the cards that we made today...

Here is the card I took to the swap- made using a Stampin' Up Sell-a-bration set called Feeling Sentimental.

This is the card Amanda brought for us to make- a spinner card.  What fun!!

Eva brought his cute card:

Here is the card Michelle D. brought:

Angie brought this one.  The butterflies are punched out from paint chips!

Gloria brought 2 cards for us to make.  Here is the first one:

...and the second one.  Isn't that sentiment fun?

Here is our hostess Kathy's card:

Wendy's card- LOVE that peacock!!

If it's a card made using Kraft cardstock, it's Jane's!  Love this CAS card!!!

This is the card that Lynn brought.  Gotta get me some of that paper and those Bold Bright buttons!!

It was a small group, but the cards are all fabulous!!!  I had a great time!  Thank you, Kathy, for hosting!!!  Can't wait till our next mini swap in a couple of weeks!!!

DTBST #172- Rainbows After the Showers

This week our DTBST challenge is "Rainbows After the Showers"...use at least 3 colors from the rainbow.  For some reason, I struggled with this challenge...I used green, blue, and purple/indigo on my card with some pink (pink is always in MY rainbow!)  :)  This was the first time that I've used Fortune Teller Sassy and she is absolutely gorgeous! I'm not thrilled with this card, but love the image!!!   I love the way she colors up!!

Make sure to stop by the SSD Blog to see what the other DTBST DT created!  You won't be disappointed!!!!   And, while you're there, make sure to play along!!!

Teen Crush!!

Today is my last day of spring break...it's back to work tomorrow...boo!!  So, while I was avoiding housework and laundry, I made another SMASH page...these are just SO easy and quick to do and they're so much fun!!!  This one is of my Teen Crush- Donny Osmond!  I saw a page that Jill Mackay did on the Facebook Smash*aholics page of her crush- David Cassidy.  That really got me thinking about the teen love of my life, so I started looking online for things I could use...it's amazing what you can find out there- especially on Pinterest!!  So, here is my Teen Crush page featuring the ever-adorable Donny Osmond...

Ahh, to be 14 again!  :)

I promise to get back to card making very soon...honest!  Until then, I hope you've enjoyed my SMASH pages.  I've enjoyed making them!!
