Round 3- Miranda!

We've made it to the 3rd round of the Sassy in the City progressive relay challenge at Sassy Studio Designs.  This image is Miranda...and she's a gorgeous one!!  The "theme" for this round is "No Nonsense"...to make a Clean and Simple (CAS) card.  Here's mine, and I hope it's CAS enough for the challenge...

It really IS a simple little card...I used a sheet of paper from a My Mind's Eye paper pack that I recently purchased.  It already had the little flowers and lines on it...I stamped the Hello sentiment (Hero Arts) to the left and then printed Miranda onto white cardstock and colored her with my Copics, then cut her out and attached her to the Cherry Cobbler card.  A little bit of ribbon (Offray)...and Voila!...a clean and simple card...

Make sure to stop by the Sassy Studio Designs blog to check out the other CAS cards made by our Design Team!!

Hump Day Hop- 3 Cheers for Summer!

Welcome to Bombshell Stamps' July Hump Day Hop!!  The theme is..."3 Cheers for Summer!" The challenge is to make a summer- themed project...but there has to be either the number 3, or three of something on our project- 3 eyelets, 3 patterned papers, etc.

You should have arrived here from Alison's blog.  If you did, great, you're on the right track!  If you didn't, please go to the Bombshell Stamps' Blog to start the hop at the beginning...

Here is my card:

I used the girl in hammock image from Bombshell's Rise and Shine set.  I daydream about lounging about in a hammock all day long but then, unfortunately, reality sets in!  My "3" part of the challenge is the 3 flowers in each corner.

Your next stop is Jodi's blog.  I  know she will have something to dazzle you!!  Here is the entire blog hop list just in case you get lost along the way.  Thanks for stopping by!!

*Kellie was a late entry so she might not be on everyone's list, so please make sure you check out her blog post while you're here!
Stamps:  Rise and Shine, sentiment is computer-generated
Papers:  Old Olive, Basic Black (Stampin' Up), Neenah 80# white, patterned papers (Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye)

Sassy in the City Progressive Relay- Pt. 2

So, did you play along with Sassy Studio Designs' first part of the Sassy in the City progressive relay challenge??  If you did, great!  You received the next image for part 2 of the relay...Samantha.  The challenge is "Blingity, Bling, Bling"- to use lots of bling...just like Samantha would do!!

Here is a card that I made using Samantha and lots of bling (I apologize for the glare- the paper is also shiny and I had a really hard time getting a good, glare-free picture...)

Isn't she gorgeous?

Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see more inspiration from the DT.  If you didn't play along and receive Samantha for free, that's okay, you'll be able to buy her and all of her Sassy in the City friends in the SSD store soon!

Sassy in the City Progessive Relay

Today is the start of the Sassy in the City Progressive Relay challenge to celebrate reaching 700 members on the Paper Craft Planet Sassy Studio Designs group page.  How are we celebrating?... with a relay challenge and four fabulous Sassy in the City images. These images will be Lindsay's Sassy versions of the four Sex in the City gals - Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda.

If you've never participated in a progressive relay it is basically a series of challenges where you must complete one challenge to earn the freebie to play along in the next challenge and so on and so on.

How it works:

Participants will have two days to complete each challenge. Those who complete challenge #1 will receive the next image via e-mail. In order to earn image #3, they will have to participate in the second challenge, and then a third challenge to claim image #4, the final image. There will be a winner selected from each of these three challenges. There will then be a final challenge for the GRAND prize. This challenge will close July 2nd.

Prizes:

Besides earning the awesome freebies along the way, there will be a random winner drawn from each challenge's entrants for two SSD images of your choice! For those who make it to the last challenge.... there will be a random drawing for one lucky winner who will receive 4 images from the upcoming July release before they hit the Sassy Studio Designs store! That winner will also be given the opportunity to be our guest new release designer and have a creation they make using one of those July images featured on the Sassy Studio Designs blog on release day! In addition, fans can win by commenting on the challenges! We will be drawing two random winners for a SSD image of choice just for leaving some love.

PCP Fun:

We'll also have festivities over on PCP as well with trivia, more prizes, etc.

Okay, now that you know all the particulars of the challenge, let's get down to some inspiration!  Here is my card using Charlotte, which is available FREE for you over on the SSD blog HERE.  This image will only be available until 10pm EDT on Monday, June 25th.  The theme for this challenge is Fabulous Friends - make a creation focused on friendship.

So make sure to claim your Charlotte image and start playing!  But hurry!  You only have 2 days to complete the 1st phase of this relay challenge!!

Stamps:  Charlotte (Sassy Studio Designs), friendship sentiment (Stampin' Up)

SSD Mini Release Blog Hop- Here Comes the Bride!

Hello, and welcome to another fabulous Sassy Studio Designs release!!  You should have arrived here from Kathy's blog. If you did, great!  If not, please head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to start the hop at the beginning!  We have three absolutely gorgeous bridal images for you- Garter Sassy, Sexy Bride, and Bachelorette...and each one is just as fabulous as the other!!!

Here's my creation for you...a Bachelorette Party Planning List...every good Maid of Honor needs to keep her details written down!

I couldn't find my good pointy scissors so my fussy cutting isn't all that great.  All-in-all, I was happy with the idea.  Everything is attached to the ribbon and the ribbon slips off so that the journal can open.

Ok ladies, for this mini release, we are changing things up a bit. We're having a wedding scavenger hunt!   For this hop we are asking you to email us a pic of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue from your homes. We will then vote on the most creative entries. You will have until Sunday at midnight EDT (that's tomorrow!) to get your entries in. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, June 27th. See the SSD Blog for more details.

Your next stop on your bridal adventure is Karen's blog, but just in case you get lost along the way, here the the complete blog hop list:

Baby Album

I finally finished decorating the baby album to go in the altered cigar box that I made as a baby shower gift.  Putting the decorations on is VERY stressful!  I would have liked to add a few more butterflies, but can you believe that I don't own a butterfly punch or die cut, and it was too late to borrow one!?  I didn't seem to have a lot of embellishments that matched the papers and colors but I think this will do...

The cover

The top flap lifts up to reveal a place for a photo or journaling.
There is a pull-out panel for another photo or more journaling.

The papers that I used are from the Little Darlings pack from Graphic 45.  They are so pretty!!  I also used several of the Little Darlings chipboard tags, but most of the pictures are cut from the papers.
The baby shower is tomorrow.  I'll let you know if the new mom likes her box and album!  I sure hope she does!!!

Baby Box

One of the teachers at my school recently had a baby- her first- a boy named Joshua Peter.  I made her an altered cigar box to store baby mementos in.  This was the first altered cigar box I've made "on my own" but I am thrilled with how it turned out!!!  I used Graphic 45's Little Darlings papers, which I absolutely LOVE!  The pictures are so sweet and the papers are wonderful!!!

I am also making a 4 x 6" album to go inside the box.  Well, my wonderful friend, Gloria, actually made the album- she knew I was running out of time (THANK YOU, Gloria!!), but I'm decorating it.  Will post pictures of that once it's finished, which, hopefully will be tomorrow (espcecially since the baby shower is Friday!!!)

SU Catalog Kick-off Party and Bingo Luau!

This past Saturday, Amanda held a SU Catalog Kick-off Party and Bingo with a luau theme at her house.  Well, I can tell you, the Meade Girls know how to party...and I have pictures to prove it!  :)

Amanda asked everyone to wear their best luau outfit and Michelle and her mom, Rose, did not disappoint! They won for "best dressed"!

Jane,  wearing her...well, I'm not quite sure what to call those!  :)

Cindy with her mom, Fran- ready to party!

I think Jane must've pulled something while doing the hula!

Amanda had a great idea for bingo.  Each person brought 3 old SU sets that they didn't want anymore.  One set was put into a bag and the other 2 were placed on the table.  Each time someone bingo-ed, they got to pick 2 sets off of the table.  For the final game, the winner received the big bag full of stamp sets.  Two people bingo-ed on the last game, Rose and Angie, so they split the bag full of stamp sets!

Dawnmarie and Jill waiting for the next number to be called.

Lynn and Jane...boy, Jane sure does get around!!  ;)

The luau spread...

Although we did no stamping at this get-together, Amanda did have some of the new items from the catalog for us to check.  We were able to try out the new SU foam stamp pads...

Here's almost the whole group- Sara refused to have her picture taken...

What a fun, fun time we had!!!  Thanks to Amanda for opening her house to us and for the wonderful food!!  The Meade Girls ALWAYS have a great time!!!  Thanks to Angie and Amanda for the great pictures!!
