Tea Time with Friends!

Today I had tea with two wonderful friends- Paula and Gloria- at Moulin de Paris.  We had a great time and the food and tea was so delicious!!  I decided to make a SMASH page using the items from tea- the menu and the pretty pink ribbon that they had the napkins tied with.  This one took me all of 10 minutes to make...(click on the picture to make it larger).

I think SMASHing is becoming a new obsession for me!!!

Fantasy Dinner Party

***PLEASE READ THIS first***

One of the girls on Facebook's Smash*aholics page, Kate Skelton, created a SMASH page for a Fantasy Dinner Party.  I loved the idea so I decided to CASE her idea using the table photo she shared.  It was hard trying to come up with 16 other people who I would want at my dinner party but I finally came up with 16- Queen Elizabeth II, Pope John Paul II, Elvis Presley, Anne Frank, Edgar Allen Poe, Ray Lewis, Rosa Parks, Hulk Hogan, Princess Diana, Jude Deveraux, Cal Ripken, Jr., John Lennon, Elton John, Capt. Jack Sparrow, Julia Child, and Barbara Bush.  I think there could be some pretty interesting conversations with this group!  Here's my page...hope you like it!!

Word Verification

Well, I am doing something that I absolutely hate...word verification for posting comments on my blog,  I have been having trouble with a lot of SPAM comments lately.  I'm hoping if I use word verification for a week or so they'll take my blog off of their lists.  Please bear with me for the short time that you'll need to do word verification.

Thanks!!!

Spring Break???

This winter in Maryland has been a bust...BIG snow storms came and went all around us but gave us no snow...until today...March 25th- 4 days into spring- and it's snowing like crazy!  We've probably got about 4" so far.  I have no idea how much more to expect...our weather guys haven't been the most reliable this winter so I've kinda stopped believing them!  ;)  And then there's the groundhog who predicted an early spring- the little liar!

This is how I spent my first day of spring break...I decided to make a SMASH book page of today...

The snow IS pretty...and I really DO love snow...but it's spring, I'm tired of being cold...just bring on warmer weather!!!

Two Challenges...and a DT Call!

This week, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Dutch Dare Challenge Blog AND Paper Crafting Journey Challenge Blog, so I am including both challenge cards in this one blog post, so make sure to scroll down to see them both.

First, I'm starting off with Dutch Dare.  The challenge is to create a shaped card.  I had an idea to create a Bandaid card and use SSD's Sassy Nurse image.   So, I set to work...this is what I came up with...

I wanted to round off the corners of my Bandaid, but I couldn't find my corner rounders...I apologize for the poor picture.  For some reason this was very hard to photograph!

Here is my card for the Paper Crafting Journey Challenge- to create a card using ribbon or lace.  I used one of SSD's brand new Oz images- Evanora.  She is just SO gorgeous!!!  I also got to use my brand new Graphic 45 Oz papers that my friend, Gloria, found for me!

Evanora is the beautiful witch who turned into the Wicked Witch of the West who gave Dorothy such a hard time in Oz.  I used some beautiful cream-colored lace around the center of the card.  It's simple, but I love it!!!

I hope that you'll come on over and play along with both Dutch Dare and Paper Crafting Journey!!

Do you LOVE Sassy Studio Designs images as much as I do???  Well, did you know that SSD is holding a Design Team Call?!?!  Click HERE for more infomration about how you can apply!!!  But hurry!  The deadline is March 29th!

Honey Please...

This week, SSD is sponsoring  Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge.  The challenge is to use ginham or checks.  What fun!  When I thought of gingham, I thought western or country, and then I thought of Sassy Studio's Cowgirl Sassy- Cowgirl Debbie.  Here's the card I made using gingham and checks with Cowgirl Sassy...and I love it!!

The sentiment is something I found online and thought it was sassy enough to use with Cowgirl Sassy.  I can just imagine her saying this!

Come on over to Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge blog and play along with us!

Easter- Glitter and Sparkle Way!

If you are here for Sassy Studio's
Follow the Yellow Brick Road hop

This week, SSD is sponsoring the Glitter and Sparkle Challenge Blog and the challenge/theme is "Easter".  I hemmed and hawed at which SSD image I should use but then I stumbled upon an image I had colored and not used...Sassy Pin-Up Bunny...and thought she'd be perfect as the Easter Bunny!  :)   Here's my card for this challenge:

Since she was already colored using Copic's R26 Rose, I found this paper from Basic Grey that matched pretty well.  The garter has sparkle on it but it's just not showing up well in the photo.  I hope you like her!

Please come and play along with us over at Glitter and Sparkle!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road!

Welcome to Day 1 of Sassy Studio's Follow the Yellow Brick Road new release blog hop!!!!  You should have arrived here from Robin's Reflections.  If you did, that's great!!  If not, please make sure to go back to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to start the hop from the beginning!

This month, Lindsey has created some fabulous images to go along with the release of Oz- the Great and Powerful which recently opened in theaters- Theodora, The Wicked Witch, Glinda, Evanora, and Oz.  Each one is just SO fabulous and I can't wait for you to see what the DT has come up with using these fun images!!!

Just so you know, each DT member will chose one person who comments on their blog to win the image that we are featuring, so make sure to leave comments on each blog throughout the hop today and tomorrow to better your chances of winning of one these fabulous Oz images!!!!

I am featuring Theodora.  Theodora is played by Mila Kunis in the movie.  In an interview, Mila says about Theodora: "Theodora is a really nice, sweet, naive witch who truly wants to bring peace to the land,” Kunis elaborates. “She is a girl who desperately wants to believe in good and believe in the betterment of society, the betterment of the people and betterment of the world. She is also in so much denial of the bad that she doesn’t even think it exists.

“There’s a prophecy that the previous king predicted on his deathbed saying that this man would come and save the Land of Oz,” the actress details further about her character. “She sees this balloon drop from the sky and on the balloon it says ‘The Great and Powerful Oz’. Without a doubt in her mind, she believes that this is the great and powerful wizard that is coming to save the Land of Oz from the Wicked Witch.”

Here is my card featuring this beautiful, young witch:

Meade Girls' Masculine SBS

Yesterday I spent the day stamping with the Meade Girls- the most wonderful group of ladies in the world!  Our "theme" for this SBS was masculine, so we all had to create a card for a boy, teen, or man.  We also helped Rose celebrate her birthday- with cards, gifties, and even a cake so she could blow out the candle!

For me, masculine cards are always hard. I created one card and promptly threw that one in the trash.  My second attempt wasn't much better, but I was not feeling well and by that time I decided "it is what is it"...and here it is- using the crayon resist technique:

Here are the other cards I made at the swap and who created them:

Fran

Kathi

Theresa R.

Pete

Cindy
(stamping on cork!)

Paula
(this is an adorable card that I accidentally smudged.  Attempting to "save" it, I smudged it some more- major fail on my part!)

Michelle D.

Gloria

Rose

Tracie

Connie

Sarah

Amanda
(this was the first card I made and I guess my eyes weren't quite working right- everything was crooked!!!  It's such a great card that I'm hoping I can somehow salvage it.)

Kathy

Sara

Michelle G.

Jane

We had a blast stamping, chatting...and yes, eating...as always!  :)   It had been a while since I had been and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!  I'm SO looking forward to the next one in April!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Washi!

I am new to SMASHing and everything that goes along with it...including Washi tape...but I'm finding that I'm quickly developing an addiction to this sticky stuff!  Although I don't have as many rolls as some SMASHers, I'm up to about 20 rolls...I wasn't quite sure what to do with it, though, so I decided I would do a SMASH page about Washi...and here it is:

I just layered strips of the different designs of Washi, but once I had covered the two pages, I wasn't quite sure what to do with the page.  Then one of my fellow SMASH*aholics mentioned a digital image that Saturated Canary had of a Washi girl, so I had to order her...and she worked perfectly with the page!  What do you think?

Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll come back again soon!!

As soon as I saw this photo I thought of SSD's Polka Dot Bikini Sassy.  Here is the card that was inspired by this photo:
