Christmas Card of the Week- Be Naughty

Hello, and happy Sunday! Here is my Christmas Card of the Week.

The image is from Stamps By Judith. The Santa image is R52 and the sentiment is H90. The image and sentiment were stamped onto GP110 white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored Santa using my Copic Markers- R37, E21, W1, W2, W3, G07, 100. I also used SU's More Mustard marker to color the buckles. All papers are from Stampin' Up- Real Red, Creamy Caramel and some older scrap of one of their Christmas DSP sets. I doodled around the edge of the main image using my SU Basic Black marker. I also applied black glitter adornments from My Favorite Things to each end of the sentiment using Alene's Jewel-It glue. The finished card is 5-1/4" square.

I have a really FUN technique to show you, but first I need to find my brayer. I've lost it "somewhere" in my stamp room. I KNOW it's there, but I just can't seem to FIND it! :) Hopefully it'll show up soon. I really want to give this new technique I saw a try! Have a great week and keep checking back!

Christmas Card of the Week X 2

So, since I was too lazy to make a Christmas card for last week, I made two this week. While rummaging through my stash of designer paper, I found the Christmas pack that SU offered in the Holiday mini- unopened, of course, since I am still a paper hoarder...so, I decided to make 2 cards using the same exact supplies- Real Red, Blushing Bride, GP110 white and Basic Black cardstock, the glitter-striped pattern paper from the holiday mini designer paper pack and some red glitter adornments from My Favorite Things that match the red glitter stripe in the DP perfectly!

The first card was made using Pink Gem's adorable Gingerbread Man digi-image. Isn't he cute? And he's so much fun to color! Oh, and he's also on sale right now! The Warm Hugs sentiment is from Sherrod Studios.

The second card was made using a Stamps By Judith stamp called Lg. Happy Snowman (T-33). He's so cute! The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Hannah Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!!

Bombshell's May Sketch Challenge

Bombshell Stamp's May Sketch is a beauty. Our sketch queen, Kathi, really outdid herself with this one!

My card VERY loosely follows the sketch, but here is my contribution to this month's challenge:

This gorgeous image is from Bombshell Stamps' Girl's Ruin stamp set that I just received. All papers are from Stampin' Up (Basic Black, Green Galore (which I'm REALLY going to miss when they get rid of this color!) and the black & white DSP set). The image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with what else- my Copics! Using the photo corner punch I punched out a corner using a scrap of the black & white DSP and attached to the bottom right corner. In the upper left, I attached a large black flower (from Aunt Irene's), a bright green Prima and the center is a Glitter Adornment from My Favorite Things. I love the bright green with the black.
I'm having a great time using my new stamp sets!! Make sure to come back on Wednesday for Bombshell's Hump Day Hop. The "theme" for this month is "Look Ma, I Did It!" This month, our Miss Kas wants to see what you are made of....and what you can make. You can make any sort of project, a card, a layout, an altered object...whatever...you just need to make a handmade embellishment. It can be a flower, button, etc... You just have to make it. Come join in on the hop and win a prize. Actually, you have 3 ways to win a fabulous prize, courtesy of Smeared Ink...1. submit a creation and join in on the blog hop on Wednesday 2. submit a creation for the sketch challenge above or 3. submit a challenge for Katja's challenge-who is Bombshell's Miss May- "It's All About Me!". C'mon and join the fun!!!

Tuesday Throwdown

Hello, and welcome to another Sherrod Studio Tuesday Throwdown! This week, the design team was challenged to create a Clean and Simple card. I'm not very good at CAS cards...but that's why they call this a 'challenge'! So, without further ado, here is my CAS card:

I'm not sure WHY I picked all white...maybe it's because I'm a little stir-crazy with all the snow that we've had (we're getting ready for our 3rd blizzard of the winter coming tonight!) Great, just what we need- MORE snow! Anyway, back to the card- I used GP110 white cardstock for the entire card. I embossed one layer using my Cuttlebug and the Paisley embossing folder, then I embossed the other layer using the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. I stamped the girl duck image from Pond Friends using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her feathers, beak, and feet only. I envisioned her wearing a white eyelet dress and hat. I added yellow Glitter Adornments from My Favorite Things using gem glue to each corner of the Dotted Swiss panel. So, what do you think? Clean and simple enough or too much?? I can't wait to hear your opinions!
Hop on over to the other Sherrod Studio design team members' blogs to see their CAS creations. Links to their blogs can be found in my side bar.
**Remember- for the entire month of February, I will donate $1.00 per comment to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in memory of my niece, Julie. See here...

A Few Thank Yous

I was finally able to get into my stamping room this evening to play with my new Pink Gem Designs stamps. I made these 2 thank you cards using one of Janet's adorable stamps- Mimi & Bird...the first card is made using SU's Kiwi Kiss, Bashful Blue and Basic Black and a retired DSP. The image is stamped on GP110 using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics and popped up on dimensionals. The Thank You Very Much stamp is from SU. The edges of the image are sponged using Bashful Blue. The flowers are Primas and in the center of the flower is a Glitter Adornment from My Favorite Things (spring collection).
The second card is made using SU Basic Black as the card base. The DSP is from the 6 x 6 Spring Collection from My Favorite Things. The image is stamped using Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto GP110 and colored with Copics. I doodled around the edge using the fine point of my SU Basic Black marker. The irridescent crystal flowers are from the Glitter Adornment set (spring collection) and adhered with glue dots.
I'm happy with how these 2 cards turned out and I can't wait to play with the other stamps that I got!! Keep checking back to see what I come up with!

What's Chirping?

I recently joined Paper Craft Planet and decided I'd try one of their sketch challenges. This is for sketch SK031409. I just got this stamp set- Hangin' With My Peeps- from My Favorite Things. I stamped the image and sentiment with SU Basic Black and the image is colored with my Copics...what else? :) Papers used are SU Only Orange, YoYo Yellow, Basic Black and Whisper White. The green is Dark Luscious Lime from ColorMates and the striped paper is from My Favorite Things' Spring Collection. The ribbon is some I found in the Michael's dollar bin. I also used Prima Flowers, My Favorite Things Glitter Adornments (spring collection) and I punched the sentiment out with the large and medium oval punches. Not too bad, I guess, for my first try at a sketch!! What do you think?

Inky Impressions 1st Design Team Call

A brand new stamp company, Inky Impressions, is holding their first ever design team call. They asked that applicants post their 2 best cards...they're specifically looking at our coloring skills since their stamp images require a lot of coloring. Well, I LOVE to color- I always have- and I love to color with my Copics. I thought that I would never be chosen, so why bother? Well, the more I thought about it, the more I thought- why not? The images that I've seen so far in their sneak peeks look to be right up my alley, so I decided to go for it! So, above are the two cards that I'm submitting for the call. The clown image is from High Hopes Stamps, "Sending Smiles" is from Hero Arts. I used SU Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock. The striped paper is from My Favorite Things (Spring collection) and the polka dot paper is unknown. For embellishments I used Prima Flowers, My Favorite Things Adornments (Spring collection) and Copic Markers. The orange and green ribbons are some that I received at The Meade Girls SBS last weekend, as was the polka dot paper (courtesy of Kim, the owner of Create IT Crafts) so I don't know who the makers are. The dragon image is also from High Hopes. I used SU Basic Black and Whisper White. The green paper is Dark Luscious Lime from ColorMates. I ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Mesh embossing folder (I thought it looks a little like what I think dragon skin would look like!) The image is also colored with Copics. I hope that you enjoy these cards and I'm hoping that the 'judges' at Inky Impressions do also! Wish me luck!!
