He Asked, She Said Yes!

About 3 months, ago, my son proposed to his girlfriend.  My wonderful friend, Gloria, made this floating ornament for them using her Silhouette Cameo. She is SO talented!

Isn't it pretty!!  The 2013 is vinyl and is attached on the reverse side of the ornament.  I bought a silver stand to go along with it so they can hang it on the tree or display it on the stand- which ever they'd like to do.

Thank you, Gloria!  Your are a great friend!

Santa's Helper...Published!

It's always fun to received a white envelope with a magazine in it...that means that one of my cards has been published!!  This card that I made...way back in 2009 when I was still on the Bombshell Stamps design team...was FINALLY published...about 4 years after I submitted it to Just Cards!!  Just goes to show you that you never know when your cards will show up!! So, if you've submitted cards and haven't heard anything from them, don't give up hope!  ;)

It is on page 94 of  the 2013 issue of Just Cards! Holidays, Volume 6 under the title of Santa's Helper.  The image that I used is A Pirate's Life from Bombshell Stamps.  The image was stamped in black in and colored using Copic Markers.  The pile of gifts image is from Bombshell Stamps' Accessories stamp set.

Wetlands Swap

Today I spent the day with 11 of the most wonderful ladies stamping the day away at a shoebox swap.  Amanda and Cindy, our hostesses, decided it would be fun for us all to use the same stamp set called Wetlands from Stampin' Up.   It's amazing the different ideas and looks that everyone came up with for their cards!  Take a look:

Here is my card:

Gloria's postcard:
(This is her "Duck Dynasty" version)

Michelle's card:

Tracie's card:

Amanda's card:

Rose's card:

Kathi's card:

Vera's card:

Angie's card:

Lynn's card:

Cindy's card:

Fran's card:

Here is a group shot of us each holding the card that they brought to the swap:

It is also sad to think that this is the last swap that Amanda will be hosting.  The Air Force has decided that it is time for her and her family to begin a new adventure in New Mexico.  On November 1st, she will head to her new home.  Although she will be making new friends, we know that she will never forget us...after all- once a Meade Girl, ALWAYS a Meade Girl!  :)

It's Only A Number!

Welcome to the joint hop with Corrosive Challenge!  The challenge is "It's Only A Number".  We were to create a birthday-related card but it had to have a number or numbers on it!  Lindsay created several brand new '80s themed images for this joint challenge...Smurfette, Rainbow Brite, Jazzercise, Flashdance, Daphne and Velma from Scooby Doo, Jessica Rabbit and Strawberry Shortcake. Lindsay did a fabulous job recreating these iconic images!  What fun...and what memories these images bring back to those of us who remember the 80s!

You should have arrived here from my sassy little bro, Greg's blog.  If not, go back to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to start at the beginning!  You don't want to miss anything!  On both the SSD blog and the Corrosive Challeng blog, there will be 5 trivia questions.  One winner from each will be chosen to win four (4) of the new SSD images.  There will also be one random winner chosen from each blog to win an image, AND there will be a challege listed on the Corrosive blog for you to play along!  Every entry into the challenge will receive a freebie from SSD, and the winner of the challenge will win a prize of ALL of these new 80s images!  So, make sure to comment on each blog along the way and make sure to play along with the challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create!!

My card is made using Daphne from Scooby Doo.  Hope you like her!

Primitive Cat

While I was recovering from a herniated disk, I decided to start a doodle journal.  One of my doodles was a primitive cat similar to one that I had seen online somewhere.  Here is my doodle:

My fabulous and VERY talented friend, Gloria, thought it would make a cute applique pillow, so she used my drawing as a pattern and made me not one, but two, gorgoeous pillows!!  Take a look at these!!

I love them!!  I am getting ready to re-do my family room using a primitive theme and these will be perfect on my new couch!!!  Thank you, Gloria!!!!

Sassy Sponsorship- Anything Goes!

Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Challenges 4 Everybody challenge of "Anything Goes".   I was still in need of another graduation card, so here is my submission for their Anything Goes challenge:

I used SSD's The Graduate image and tried to incorporate the school's colors of blue and gold/yellow. I hope he likes it.  Here's a close-up:

Christmas in July Happy Mail!

I love going to the mailbox when there are fun things in there waiting for me!  Happy mail is always good, but Christmas in July Happy Mail is even better!!!  My friend, Tracy, who is now living in Alaska, sent a Christmas in July package full of wonderful items!!!  Check out what was in my happy mail:

A fabulous hand stitched Grinch mug rug:

Along with the mug rug, she included a brass Christmas tree ornament from North Pole, Alaska, an Alaska Birch Syrup all-day sucker, and a pack of Alaskan Dill Fish Seasoning mix.

She also included a beautiful hand-stamped Christmas card.

Thank you, Tracy, for everything!!!  You are so thoughtful and I really DO appreciate it!!

Sassy Sponsorship

Today is my first day on the Sassy Sponsorship team for this term, and today it's a two-for-oner!!  Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Digi Galore (the challenge is "Holiday") and Artistic Inspirations (the challenge is "Anything Goes").

I decided to make a Halloween card.  SSD has some great Halloween images and it was hard to decide on one but, in the end, I used Sassy Witch.  She is so stunningly beautiful that I decided to leave her uncolored...just sponging some black around the edges and putting a little sparkle gel pen in the spider web on her hat.  It's a very simple card, but I like how the simplicity really makes this gorgeous witch pop off the card!  I hope you like her, too!

This image reminds me so much of  the opening of the old Bewitched TV show of my childhood, that I thought this sentiment went perfectly with the image!  Here's the inside of the card:

Stamps:  Sassy Witch digi  (Sassy Studio Designs), moon digi (unknown), "Utterly Bewitching" digi (known),  digi was combined with computer-generated text to complete sentiment
Paper:  Creamy Caramel, Basic Black (Stampin' Up), Neenah 80# white, patterned paper (Graphic 45)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black (for sponging)
Accessories:  Spica Stardust gel pen, 3-D glitter spider sticker pop dots, 1" black grosgrain ribbon (Offrey)

SSD Anniversary Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to Sassy Studio Design's June release blog hop!  Sassy Studio Designs is celebrating their 4th anniversary in June and SSD's owner and artist, Lindsey, and her husband celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday, so to help in the celebration, we are having an anniversary-themed release.  In honor of SSD's 4-year anniversary, Lindsey has re-created 4 of her older images...Tinker Sassy, Sweet Talk Sassy, Bubblegum Sassy, and Bubble Bath Sassy.  To add to the anniversary aspect of the hop, Kim, our Release Crew Guru, came up with the idea to create a project to celebrate a specific year anniversary.  Each anniversary has a "gift" that is traditionally given for that specific year.  Here is a list of those anniversary gifts...Annivesaries by Year.   There will be two ways for you to win...a random commenter will be picked from each blog to win the image that is featured on that blog.  There is also a second way you can win....if you can figure out which anniversary the project represents!

Okay, first of all, you should have arrived here from Michelle's blog.  If you did, great!  If not, make sure to go back to the SSD Blog and start the hop from the beginning!

Peter Pan was first released in theaters on February 5, 1953 so this is the 60th anniversary of it's release, so I was thrilled to be assigned the re-vamped Tinker Sassy image!  Here is my anniversary card using Tinker Sassy however, I did NOT chose 60th anniversary to use as my anniversary.  That would have been too easy! So, here's my card and you'll have to figure out which year anniversary it represents.  Good luck!

If you were able to figure out which anniversary my card represents, make sure to leave a comment below telling me!!!  Even if you can't figure it out, please leave a comment anyway...either way, you might win this image!!

Your next stop along your anniversary journey will be Lori's blog.  Here is the entire blog hop list just in case you get lost along with way:

DTBS #183- Tag Sale

Well, I've been having some health issues (herniated disk, not able to sit or stand for longer than 5 minutes) so I wasn't able to stamp.  After one series of injections, I am moving quite a bit better and was finally able to go upstairs and try to catch up...however, I didn't get this done in time for SSD's blog post.  Hey, late, but I'm getting there! ;)  Please stop by the Sassy Studio Designs blog to check out what the DT has created for this "tag sale" challenge.

My nephew just recently graduated from high school and this is the card that I made for him.  The challenge this week was to either make a tag or use a tag on our project, so I made a card with a tag.  After not creating for about a month, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.  (Lori Craig, if you're reading this, I colored this image long before our Intermediate Copic Certification class, so just ignore the light blue shadow around the image!)

I used SSD's The Graduate image.  I hope you like it!
