Snits and Celebrations...

I spent my last day of spring break stamping in my hide-away. I had a couple digi-images that I've been wanting to do something with and this was my chance.

The first card is using a Mo's Digital Pencil digi-image that I won from them a while back. The image is called Lizzy in a Tizzy. Isn't she adorable! I feel that way sometimes!!!

Stamps: Lizzy in a Tizzy Mo's Digital Pencil, Snit Happens by Hambo Stamps
Cardstock: Green Galore, Brocade Blue (Stampin' Up!), GP110 white, patterned paper by Basic Grey
Ink: Green Galore (for sponging edges of image)
Accessories: Copic Markers, pop dots, green brads (Recollections), 1/16" hole punch

This card was submitted for the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion- "Show Us Your Layers"

Make It Monday Challenge #34- Anything Goes
Stamping Scrapping Central- Anything Goes

This next card I made for my birthday card stash. I never seem to have enough birthday cards on hand!! This adorable penguin image is from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. This is a digi-image company that I've recently discovered. Check 'em out. They have some adorable images!!!

Stamps: Penguin-fun digi-image, Happy Birthday (Hanna Stamps!)

I hope that you've enjoyed my cards today and I hope that you'll stop back by again real soon!!

Sending Sympathetic Wishes...

Sympathy cards are always SO hard for me to make. Recently, a friend lost a close family member. I made this card to send her.

It didn't turn out quite like I had envisioned (I was CASING a card by the uber-talented Mary Brown). I hope that my friend likes the card and that she knows that we all share in her sorrow.

Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Basic Black (Stampin' Up!), GP110 white
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Floral embossing folder, pop dots, Bird punch (Stampin' Up!), gold stick-on beads, scalloped oval punch, sponge, Old Olive Classic Ink Pad (Stampin' Up!) for sponging

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!!!!

"I Have An Announcement!" That is the challenge for this week's Hambo Hoedown #12. We were to use this adorable King digi-image and put our own "announcement" on the banner. I'm not very good with altering digi-images, yet, but I'm took me a while to figure out how to "write" inside the banner but then I couldn't figure out how to make it bigger. Oh, well..

Inside of card:
I made this card for a co-worker who will be turning 50 next month. I hope she likes it!! I can see this image being used a lot for engagements, births, moving, etc. What fun!

Another of the Meade Girls was chosen to be an Honorary "Bacon Bit" (that's what Hambo's design team is called!) over at the Hambo Hoedown challenge blog this week!! Last week it was Gloria, and this week it's Paula!! Check out Paula's blog here!

Stamps: King from Hambo Stamps, crown from Bombshell Stamps

OMG- It's Time for Another OBG Blog Hop!!!

** If you are here for the Bombshell Blog Hop, please click here **

Hello, and welcome to the Design D.I.V.A.S. Oldies But Goodies blog hop!!! Our challenge each month is to create a card or project using items that are at least 6-months old. Well, for me, that is NOT a problem!! I seem to "collect" stamps, papers, and embellishments instead of using them. You should have arrived here from Melissa's blog. If you didn't, then head on over to Vicki's blog to start the hop. You don't want to miss a single thing!!!

So, here is my Oldies But Goodies card:

Isn't that image the cutest thing?? The image is Baby Got Back #3224 from Hambo Stamps. I've had it for what seems like forever...and it's been colored for almost that long! I found it in a stack of scraps and thought it would be perfect for this blog hop. The sentiment is Little Behind #4204, also by Hambo Stamps, and this sentiment fits me to a tee...well, my behind is far from "little" but I feel like I'm always behind on things... :) I think it'll make a fun belated birthday card.

Now hop on over to Cindy's blog to see what she's created...

...and after you've finished the OBG Blog Hop, come on back and do the Bombshell Stamps' Hump Day Hop...just scroll down to the next's a Bombshell Wedding!

It's A Nice Day For A Bombshell Wedding...

Today is Bombshell Stamps' Hump Day Hop. We haven't had a hop in a while and I just got in this one at the very last minute- whew! You should have arrived here from the fabulous Kathi's blog. If you didn't, you should head on over to the Bombshell Stamps' blog where the hop begins! You don't want to miss a thing!! The hop's theme is Bombshell Wedding. Ms. April Bombshell, Rachael, challenged us to create a wedding-related project using Bombshell Stamps and/or digi-images.

Here's my Bombshell wedding card:

I really like how it turned out and I think I did pretty good with no time to spare! I used the Lucky Bride set. I love this bride image. She's so fun to color. I'm the last stop on the hop. Thanks for hopping with us! I hope that you've enjoyed seeing all of the DT's fabulous wedding projects! I know I did!!

Stamps: Lucky Bride by Bombshell Stamps; Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, DSP (Stampin' Up!), GP110 white; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: string pearls, white lace, black glitter adornments (My Favorite Things), stick-on pearls (Martha Stewart), Copic Markers, pop-dots, Jewel-It glue (Aleen's)

This card was also submitted to the following challenges:

Everybody-Art Challenge #137- "Pearls"

"Ogre" You!

The week's Hambo Hoedown #11 was a tough one for me...we were to use this adorable ogre plus one of the included sentiments and then distress our card. I'm not very good at distressing...but here's what I came up with:

Side View:

I printed the image onto GP110 white cardstock and colored him using Copic Markers. I used an SU speckle stamp and Creamy Caramel to stamp spatters onto the image, then sponged the image and edges using Certainly Celery (sort of like mold!). I used my distressing tool around all of the egdes of the cardstock and patterned papers. I also wrinkled up the layers of patterned paper under the main image, then smoothed it out before distressing the edges of that, too. I also sponged the Prima flowers using Creamy Caramel to make them look a little wilted and withered. So, how'd I do? Head on over to the Hambo Hoedown blog and join the fun!! While you're at it, check out my friend, Gloria's blog. Gloria is this week's Hoedown Guest Designer of the Week!! She made some FABULOUS cards using this ogre image! Woo Hoo, Gloria!

I also entered this into 2 other challenges:

Cardmadefairy's Digi Days Challenge- use a digi, 2 patterned papers and 3 embellishments

Card Ideas- Let's Hear it for the Guys!

Image: Ogre and sentiment digi -images from Hambo Stamps Stamps: Itty Bitty Backgrounds (Stampin' Up!) Cardstock: GP110 white, card base unknown Patterned Papers: Close to My Heart Accessories: distressing tool, sponge, pop dots, buttons (Bo Bunny), natural hemp, glue dots, Prima flowers, large antique copper brads (American Crafts), ribbon (Michael's), key tag punch

Cards, Friends, Food, and Tats!

Yesterday I spent the day with the Meade Girls stamping away a rainy day...not only was it raining VERY heavily but it was windy AND we were under a tornado watch, but that didn't stop us from having a great time! We stamped, we ate, we talked...we even compared tattoos- and were surprised by some that have been inked! (I guess "ink" is in our blood whether it be on cards or on our bodies) There is NOTHING that we won't walk about!!!

First of all, here is the card that I made to take to the swap. Not a favorite of mine at all, but that's what I get for waiting till the last minute!

I used Stampin' Up's Bliss stamp set. Cardstock is also Stampin' Up: Summer Sun, Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy. The white cardstock is GP110. Inks used are Night of Navy, More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler.

Now onto the FABULOUS cards that the other Meade Girls brought for us to make. I do believe they outdid themselves this time!!!

(what a COOL thing to do with punches! This card was altered a bit from the original. Because I don't seem to like to read the directions, I punched the red panel on the side and not the bottome like I was supposed to do, so I made a few changes and came up with this.)

Linda (aka "Tilly")

(Another card that I had to alter a bit since I forgot to stamp the image that she used. I just added the stamped oval after I got home.)

(What a FUN sentiment with this giraffe stamp!!)

(this is SO pretty- simple yet so elegant!)

(love this dog stamp!!)

Michelle D.

(Cupcakes are ALWAYS good!!)

(Just beautiful!)

(Love the tissue paper that she used as an element!)

Michelle G.

(That black silhouette image is SO striking against the turquoise blackground!)

Theresa R.

(I do love black and white cards!)

Theresa S.

(Great kid card!)

(Although Gloria didn't like her card, I loved it! That blue paper is so shimmery!)

(Another card that I had to slightly alter because I didn't get my horse panel in the proper place. I still like it, though!)

(A beautiful card from our hostess! I had to run home and order the Four Frames set!)

Paula R.

(Great fold on this card! Love that butterfly!)

(A new technique to try with amazing results! Misting with Markers!)

Pete (aka Evelyn)

(Pete once again won the P.I.T.A. award! Not really a pain in the a$$ but just time consuming. Definitely worth the time you put into it!!)

(This little guy is just TOO stinking cute!!!! What a great little gift!

The OCD in me really wants those squiggles on the cupcake to be straight, though!)

I just LOVE how each and every card is so different but I love them ALL!! I can't wait till the next swap!!

Black-Eyed Susan Thank Yous

This past week was a crazy one for me at school...the craziness included kindergarten registration. Thankfully I had several wonderful parent/grandparent volunteers who offered to help with registration to help ease my craziness. I wanted to send them thank yous for helping me out. I found a wonderful Black-Eyed Susan thank you image online through the Operation Write Home blog and since we live in Maryland, I thought it would be perfect to use. Here's the first card that I made using this image:

I really like this card. I used SU's Real Red, Summer Sun cardstocks and Newsprint DSP. The image was printed onto GP110 white cardstock and colored using Copic Markers. The red satin ribbon is from the Offray ribbon outlet.

I made this second card using the same image but I'm not liking it quite as much:

I used the same technique and color cardstocks, but embossed the Summer Sun layer using the square lattice embossing folder in my Cuttlebug. The ribbon, again, is from the Offray ribbon outlet.

I hope the ladies will enjoy their cards as much as I enjoyed having their help!

Thanks for looking!

Weekend Stamping and a Hoedown!

**Blogger has been acting wonky these past few days...I apologize for the paragraphs being all bunched together. I've TRIED to fix it, but once it's published or saved it goes all wonky again...arggghhh!** It was a chilly weekend so I stayed inside and was able to stamp a little. Here are my accomplishments for this weekend: My first card is my submission for the Hambo Hoedown #9- Spring is Marching It's Way in Bright and Hot! Our challenge was to use the cute caterpillar image and the colors bright green and hot pink. Well, trust me when I tell you that my green IS bright, HONEST, but for some reason, it looks very pale in the scan...and I've noticed that the smallest of boo-boos REALLY show up on scans!!! I won't point them out just in case you miss them! :) Maybe I really need to hone up on my camera skills!!

Stamps: Hambo Stamps Cardstock: Green Galore, Pixie Pink, GP110 white Patterned Paper: unknown from my stash Accessories: Copic Markers, green stick-on gem, pink grosgrain ribbon (Offray), label punch, pop dots, sponge, SU Basic Black marker for doodling This next card I made using an adorable 2 Cute Rubber Stamps chick.

Stamps: 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Patterned Paper: unknown from my stash Cardstock: YoYo Yellow, Pretty In Pink Accessories: Copic Markers, pop dots, pink grosgrain ribbon (Offray) This last card was made for a friend's father who recently turned 80 years old. I sent him a card that would have been received in time for his birthday, however, the US Postal Service had other thoughts... Anyway, the mailman brings me my card back, in a baggie- in pieces. I have no idea what happened to it...there were no buttons, there were no brads, there was no bow or extra I don't know what on earth happened to it. So...I needed to make him another card and I found out he is a REALLY big Redskins fan, so I made him this card:

Being a big Ravens' fan, I had a hard time doing this card, so I sure hope he likes it!

Stamps: Hambo digi-image, Happy Birthday (Stampin' Up!) Cardstock: Cranberry Crisp, Summer Sun, GP110 white Accessories: Copic Markers, large oval punch, label punch, pop dots, Cuttlebug, Tim Holtz embossing folder (Sizzix) Oh, and a BIG congratulations to my beloved Baltimore Orioles for SWEEPING the Tampa Bay Rays this weekend!! WOO HOO!! Baseball season is here!!
