A FABULOUS Color Combination!

This week's Hambo Hoedown was a FUN one! We were to use the Laughing digi but this was also a color challenge. We were to use red, teal/turquoise and either white, vanilla, or kraft. Now what was funny (or at least to me) was that right before I saw this challenge, I was playing a game called Bubbles on Facebook. The bubbles are all different colors and you "pop" at least 3 of the same color in a row. As I was playing, I had a screen full of red and turquoise-colored bubbles and I thought "wow, that would be really pretty on a card!" Then the next day, Hambo's challenge is to use those exact colors. Anyway, here is my card for the Hambo Hoedown Challenge #20:

Hoedown #16- Sumo and Chipboard

This week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge was a fun one!!! We were to use the Sumo digi-image, one of the accompanying sentiments plus use chipboard somewhere on the card. I rarely use chipboard, although I DO have a bunch of those chipboard square coasters that I've been hoarding...so, I pulled one of those out. covered it using patterned paper and Modge Podge, and used it on my card...and here's what I came up with:

A Tisket, A Tasket...

A tisket, a tasket, we have a little basket! That's the theme for this week's Hambo Hoedown #13. Our challenge was to use this adorable heart-filled basket digi-image and the sentiment to create a card, BUT...we also had to use flowers and lace.

This image, Heart Basket-digi, from Hambo Stamps, is perfect for many occasions- Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or just to say "I love you" for no reason! Hop on over to this week's challenge and see everyone else's take on this challenge!

Cardstock used is all Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Gable Green (Stampin' Up!), GP110 white and the patterned paper is Stampin' Up! Accessories used are lace from my stash that must be at least 10 years old!, mulberry paper roses (Recollections), Copic Markers, pop dots, glue dots, sponge, Gable Green ink pad (Stampin' Up!) and medium and scalloped oval punches.

Operation Write Home's Stars and Stripes blog offered some adorable free digi-images recently. This birthday image was one of them. I needed a birthday card for a friend and thought she'd get a kick out of this image.

All cardstock- Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, and Buckaroo Blue- is from Stampin' Up. The patterned paper is from the Good Times pack of designer paper from Close To My Heart. The image was printed onto GP110 white cardstock and colored using Copic Markers. Stick-on pearls were used for her earrings. This is just a fun card and I hope the recipient likes it as much as I do!!

LOVE My Ravens!

Hambo Stamps now has a challenge blog! What's so great is that you get FREE digi images to play along with! And even better- the more you play, the more FREE digi images you get! How cool is that??? This is KICKOFF week for the Hambo Hoedown and being that this was Super Bowl week, they offered a free football digi image to use for the challenge!!!

I decided to make a card honoring my beloved Baltimore Ravens...

Even though the Ravens didn't make it to the Super Bowl, they had a great year! I'm already looking forward to next year and rooting my Ravens on to another Super Bowl victory!

Two 4 Tuesday- Pink Gem Designs!

Happy Two 4 Tuesday! (Hey, did you notice today's date? It's 1-11-11! Today, I have two cards- both made with images from Pink Gem Designs. I discovered this fabulous stamp company about a year ago. They offer the cutest polymer stamps, digi-images, and digi papers. The company is located in England, but don't let that scare you. They are very quick to ship and there is even a dollar conversion chart right on their website so you know exactly how much you're paying. I have had nothing but good luck when ordering from them!

Now, on to the cards...

This card is made using Pink Gem's Reindeer and Robin image. Isn't he the sweetest thing? Papers are all from Stampin' Up. The image is colored with Copic Markers. I used red glitter adornments from My Favorite Things for his nose and in each corner. In real life, they are so much redder and brighter than they're showing on the scan. The sentiment is from a Sherrod Studio holiday set, but unfortunately, they are no longer in business.

This next card is also made using a Pink Gem image called Robin with Mistletoe.

Again, all papers are from Stampin' Up and the image is colored with Copic Markers. These images are SO much fun to color! I think I will put some Stickles on the "snowflakes" on both cards and I'm sure my friend, Dawnmarie, will tell me I need to put some white flocking on the bird's hat and scarf. (I don't have any flocking, but DM is bringing me some this weekend!)

Soon to be RELEASED!!!

Yee Haw!!! Check out Bombshell Stamps' soon-to-be-released digi-images!! THREE fabulous western-themed sets! Here are two cards that I made using a couple of these wonderful images. I do believe that this pretty lady might be my new favorite!

The image is colored with Copics and is cut out and popped up with dimensionals. I tried to use Creamy Caramel to age the image but she just ended up with freckles! :) Well, cowgirls DO spend a lot of time in the sun!! All papers are from Stampin' Up (Early Espresso, Cranberry Crisp, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and an old western-themed DSP). The stars (which kinda got out of hand!) were punched using SU's small star punch. The "cowgirl" sentiment is something I found online.

This next image just gives me the giggles. What fun it must be to ride a pig! I think this card would be cute for a little girl...a cowgirl in training.

Again, all papers are SU (Cranberry Crisp, Basic Black, Whisper White and that same western-themed DSP pack). The DSP was embossed using my Cuttlebug and the Paisley embossing folder. The "Ride 'em, cowgirl" was computer generated.

Bombshell Beauties

Finally! I finally got a chance to get into my hide-away and stamp! Whew! It's been such a hectic couple of weeks, but with school winding down, things should (hopefully) calm down for me! I'll be on vacation soon and should have lots of time to stamp then!

So, this is what I have for you today- another card using Bombshell Stamps' beautiful Rose. This image is just SO gorgeous! The stamp set is called Rose's Portrait and here's what I did with her today:

I stamped Rose onto GP110 white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black. She is colored with Copics, however, the green and pink scanned much brighter than they really are. I used my oval Nestabilites to cut the image out. The card base is Basic Black. The patterned papers are unknown. For the bottom part, I punched out circles using my 1-5/8" circle punch and layered them. It was AFTER I scanned the card that I noticed that they were a bit crooked at the bottom...oh, well...too late now! :) I saw a card made with this sketch on Jody Morrow's fabulous blog- Confessions of a Ribbon Addict...you can find her blog in my "Ink-spirations" list in my sidebar. The ribbon is from the Offray Ribbon Outlet in Hagerstown, MD. If you've never been and you're in the area, it's a MUST! The oval image is popped up using dimensionals.

My second offering today is an ATC- my first ever. A friend asked me to make an ATC that describes me...I kept putting it off and putting it off, but it can't be put off any longer...the thought of making an ATC scared me...it's the size, I think, that worries me- so little space to create on. Anyway, this is what I came up with, although I don't think I'll be making any more ATCs in the near future! :)

The card base is SU's silver metallic cardstock. The DSP is also SU. I used the Bombshell Angel image and stamped her onto GP110 white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics. I then "dressed" her using Bombshell's "Biker Bombshell" digi clothing set. She is popped up on dimensionals atop of big pink Prima. The "Biker Chick" sentiment is computer generated. So, Steph...how did I do?

I haven't forgotten about the Yo-Yo tutorial...I just need to get it done when there is someone home to take pictures for me...it'll be coming soon! I promise!

Another Sneak Peek!

As promised, here is another sneak peek using the new digi-clothing for Bombshell Stamps' Bombshell Angel stamp. I love this outfit and wouldn't mind having one for ME! :)

Again, the Angel image is stamped onto GP110 white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. The 2-piece outfit was printed onto GP110 white cardstock and colored with Copics. Copics work great with digi-images- no streaking or smearing!! I just cut out the images and adhered them to the stamped image. The card is 5-1/4" square. Not sure who the card base or the patterned paper are from. They are some that I got in a blog candy that I won. The ribbon is from Offray and the brads are Recollections by Michael's.

I'm really enjoying these digi-images and can't wait for them to be released!!!

Bombshell Stamps' most popular stamp set- Bombshell Angel- as a stamp- wears a very sexy swimsuit, but in the VERY near future, you'll be able to dress her up using digital images!!! There will be many "themes" to chose from- including occupational outfits and even some costumes. WHAT FUN!!!!! Here is a card I made using the business set:

I LOVE this card!! I love the yellow and red with the black. All papers are from Stampin' Up, the Angel image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and the sentiment and the 2-piece suit was printed on the computer onto GP110 white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. The red dotted ribbon is from Offray and the black brads are from Recollections by Michael's. I think I might use this card for one of the secretary's at my school for Secretary's Day next month. The business set comes with 3 different business suits plus 5 coordinating sentiments.

I had SO much fun making this card. I felt like I was playing paper dolls!! Ooh- I just had a thought (and yes, it DOES happen on occasion!)- if you have little girls, you could stamp the Angel image, cut her out and color her and mount her on chipboard, then stamp the clothes, cut them out and color them and then laminate them all for your little ones to play with!
