Soon to be RELEASED!!!

Yee Haw!!! Check out Bombshell Stamps' soon-to-be-released digi-images!! THREE fabulous western-themed sets! Here are two cards that I made using a couple of these wonderful images. I do believe that this pretty lady might be my new favorite!

The image is colored with Copics and is cut out and popped up with dimensionals. I tried to use Creamy Caramel to age the image but she just ended up with freckles! :) Well, cowgirls DO spend a lot of time in the sun!! All papers are from Stampin' Up (Early Espresso, Cranberry Crisp, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and an old western-themed DSP). The stars (which kinda got out of hand!) were punched using SU's small star punch. The "cowgirl" sentiment is something I found online.

This next image just gives me the giggles. What fun it must be to ride a pig! I think this card would be cute for a little girl...a cowgirl in training.

Again, all papers are SU (Cranberry Crisp, Basic Black, Whisper White and that same western-themed DSP pack). The DSP was embossed using my Cuttlebug and the Paisley embossing folder. The "Ride 'em, cowgirl" was computer generated.

Back in December 2009, the select chorus from the school I work at, The Jaguar Singers, performed on one of our local Baltimore channel's morning show. On Monday mornings, they always have a group perform the Bangle's song "Manic Monday". Well, the news crew picked our chorus as being one of the 5 best performances of the year, so, they opened up voting to pick THE best performance...we need your vote(s)! Please go to http://www.wjz.com and to the right of the home page you'll see 5 groups to chose from. Please vote for Jacobsville Elementary School! Right now, we're in 2nd place, but we'd love to see our kids win!!! You can only vote once per day from each computer. Please ask your friends and family to vote for us, too! I know the kids would REALLY appreciate it!!! The winner will be announced on the channel 13 morning show at the "Mammoth Manic Monday Meltdown" on Monday, November 22nd, so please vote and vote daily until Monday!

What's to Come...

Well, I FINALLY made it to the brand new Hobby Lobby that has opened in our area! Actually there are TWO that opened nearby!! I got some great deals! Everything I bought was 40%-70% off and the one item that wasn't on sale I used my 40% coupon! I got out of the store with one big bag and it was less than $25.00!

On Saturday a group of us are getting together at Amanda's for an ornament making day. I picked up some of the glass ornaments from Hobby Lobby on sale- I got a dozen clear and a dozen irredescent (spelling?), so check back on Saturday to see what we've created.

Also, Bombshell Stamps will be releasing some brand new western images! These new images coordinate with the Retro Cowgirls set or they're fabulous on their own!!! The Design Team is busy creating some sneak peeks for you. These images are fabulous!! I think you're going to LOVE them!

Oh, my...what a WONDERFUL day!

Yesterday I spent the day stamping with the nicest, most talented group of ladies that I know...Amanda hosted another fabulous shoebox swap, and we made some of the most beautiful Christmas/winter cards!! It was an exhausting day but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Amanda makes her swaps SO fun!! She had a FABULOUS hat for those to wear if they forgot to put anything back into the box...I do believe that Angie really LIKED the hat!! We're all looking forward to the next swap after the new year...

Another Meade Girls' SBS Coming Up!

I'm SO far behind on my stamping! I REALLY need to get my hideaway cleaned and organized so I can find what I have!! It's a total mess!

Anyway, the Meade Girls will be having another shoebox swap this Saturday. The theme is Christmas or winter cards...and that's great since I only have ONE Christmas card made so far!! Here's the card that I made to take to the swap:

This is my favorite new color combination- Cherry Cobbler (LOVE IT!) and Old Olive with Very Vanilla. The stamp set is a retired SU set called "From Our House to Yours". I bought it at a "yard sale" at the last shoebox swap that I went to. It's one of those sets that I kicked myself for not buying when it was in the catalog, so I was happy to be able to get it! I hope the girls enjoy making this card.

I'm really looking forward to going to the swap. It's always so much fun to stamp and spend time with friends...and of course, the eating is fun, too! I'll be back this weekend with pictures of all the cards that I make at the swap, so stay tuned!

Tags Galore...

I spent Sunday afternoon with my stamping buddies for some fun, food, and creativity. Jane had us all over to her house for a Tastefully Simple tasting party. Oh, my...the dishes that she created were DELICIOUS! After our bellies were full, Amanda hosted a tag "class". We used Stampin' Up's Tags Til Christmas stamp set to create these adorable gift tags.

I still need to attach the eyelets and twine or ribbon to finish them up. They're just SO easy to stamp and punch out!

Amanda also showed us how to make this fabulous little divided box to put our tags in:

The plastic card boxes were purchased online and the cute little stretchy bow was included with the box. She showed us how to make the divided insert for the inside. She is just SO creative! These would make nice little gifts for teachers, the mailman, or anyone you want to give a little token gift to.

Thanks to Jane for her hospitality and to Amanda for her wonderful "class". Getting together with these ladies is always a great time!

A Geography Lesson Bombshell-Style!

School is back in session, the kids are learning their lessons...and the theme for this month’s blog hop is Geography: travel, foreign lands, or exotic colors. With me being a biker, I knew I just HAD to use one of Bombshell’s motorcycle images.

It's so much fun to travel the roads and visit new places on a motorcycle! These bike images are so great...this one that I used- from the Harley Bikes stamp set- is very similar to MY bike, however, I don’t ride a Harley...I ride a Victory Vegas (Harleys’ are over-rated!) :D Anyway...the card base is Stampin’ Up’s now-retired Brilliant Blue. I embossed the card front in the Cuttlebug using the Diamonds in the Rough embossing folder. I then cut out circles using my circle Nestabilities from SU’s retired Marigold Morning, Basic Grey red dotted DSP and a scrap of map (snitched from my dear husband’s road atlas...) The bike image is stamped onto GP110 white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with my Copic markers. The sentiment is from a very old unknown motorcycle set that I’ve had for a long while...both the bike image and the sentiment are popped up using dimensionals.

Maryland City SBS a.k.a FUN TIME!!!

This past Saturday I attended the Maryland City/Laurel shoebox swap hosted by the hostess with the mostest- Kathy. Oh, my, what a fun, FUN time we all had!!! A great group of ladies attended and they brought a fabulous lot of cards for us to make!!!!!

First of all, here is the card that I took to the swap. My mojo was pretty much non-existent, and of course, I waited till the last minute...I attempted and discarded 4 different designs before I finally decided on this card with less than 12 hours to go before the swap...

I used Stampin' Up's Come to Bethlehem stamp set. It's such a pretty set. The papers I used are all from SU- their new Cherry Cobbler (my NEW favorite color!), Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Jolly Holidays DSP. It's a simple card, but I like it.

World Card Making Day Is Coming- October 2, 2010

Bombshell Published!

Well, I FINALLY had one of my Bombshell cards published in a magazine!!! Today, I received both my subscription copy AND my comp copy of Just Cards! Volume 19.


This is the card that was published on page 102:

I love spreading the Bombshell love and I'm so happy that one of my Bombshell cards was finally published! (Sorry for the crooked scan!)

Two of my friends had cards published in this issue- Amanda had 2 cards- "Decorative Shack" on page 30 and "Happy Blessings" on page 93. Tracy had "Just for You" published on page 32. Great job, girls!

Make & Take Fun!

Amanda invited us over for a mini-stamp camp/make & take today. Getting together with the Meade Girls is ALWAYS a fun time!! We chat (about ALL sorts of things!), eat and stamp...here are the projects that we made using the SU owl punch- which is now on my GOTTA HAVE list!!

This first project is a mini Mason jar (from Walmart). The circular disks are cut from Nestabilities and decorated using Amanda's new favorite patterned paper from SU. The owls are popped up on dimensionals.

We had our choice of M & Ms or "owl droppings" (aka brown dew drops) to put in the jar. I chose the owl droppings. :)

This next project is just adorable...a mini Post-It note holder. We used the owl punch to make a penguin and attached googlie eyes. SO cute!!

Here is another view of the Post-It note holder. We used a glitter pen to highlight the snowflakes which were embossed using the Snowflakes Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Next we made this wonderful owl card. The black card is embossed using the spider web embossing folder. LOVE how the owl and moon seem to POP off the card!

This card is so precious...beautiful colors and great layout!! The sentiment says "From the Heart".

We also made these cute little luggage/craft bag tags. On the back of the tag is a place to write your name and phone number. Love the gem on the initial. These colors will match my craft bag perfectly!!

Amanda also made each of us an owl bookmark using the large paper clips, but I must have left mine at her house since it wasn't in my bag with the other projects. You'll just have to trust me that it was just as adorable as these other projects!!

Thanks, Amanda, for having us over and for providing all of these fun projects!!! It was good to see everyone again...and I finally got my meet Michelle, my cousin-by-marriage, who just moved back to the area. Can't wait for the next get-together!!!

Card Patterns Sketch 79

Now that my mojo has returned, I decided to participate in this week's Card Patterns' Sketch 79 challenge. Here is their original sketch:

I made the card a standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" size. The card base is Stampin' Up's Night of Navy cardstock. The patterned paper is also from Stampin' Up, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the pack, but I know that it's now retired. I ran the patterned paper through my Cuttlebug using the stars embossing folder. The image is from Bombshell Stamps's Ahoy, Sailor stamp set. I love her. The image is stamped onto GP110 white cardstock and colored using Copic Markers. The image is layered onto SU's Real Red and Night of Navy. 1-1/4" circles of Night of Navy were punched using the small star punch and layered onto 1-3/8" circles of Real red. All punches are from Stampin' Up. Using my Crop-o-dile, I punched holes in the center of the punched out star (well, I THOUGHT they were in the center, but looking at the card now, I see not ALL of them were! Oh, well!) I then inserted yellow star eyelets from Doodlebug, then attached them to the left side of the card and the layered image to the right side. I omited the ribbon from the original sketch. Hope you like it!
