It's Only A Number!

Welcome to the joint hop with Corrosive Challenge!  The challenge is "It's Only A Number".  We were to create a birthday-related card but it had to have a number or numbers on it!  Lindsay created several brand new '80s themed images for this joint challenge...Smurfette, Rainbow Brite, Jazzercise, Flashdance, Daphne and Velma from Scooby Doo, Jessica Rabbit and Strawberry Shortcake. Lindsay did a fabulous job recreating these iconic images!  What fun...and what memories these images bring back to those of us who remember the 80s!

You should have arrived here from my sassy little bro, Greg's blog.  If not, go back to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to start at the beginning!  You don't want to miss anything!  On both the SSD blog and the Corrosive Challeng blog, there will be 5 trivia questions.  One winner from each will be chosen to win four (4) of the new SSD images.  There will also be one random winner chosen from each blog to win an image, AND there will be a challege listed on the Corrosive blog for you to play along!  Every entry into the challenge will receive a freebie from SSD, and the winner of the challenge will win a prize of ALL of these new 80s images!  So, make sure to comment on each blog along the way and make sure to play along with the challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create!!

My card is made using Daphne from Scooby Doo.  Hope you like her!

Your next stop on your 80s journey is Adina's blog. I know you'll love what she's created!!
Here is the entire blog hop list just in case you get lost along the way!

Primitive Cat

While I was recovering from a herniated disk, I decided to start a doodle journal.  One of my doodles was a primitive cat similar to one that I had seen online somewhere.  Here is my doodle:

My fabulous and VERY talented friend, Gloria, thought it would make a cute applique pillow, so she used my drawing as a pattern and made me not one, but two, gorgoeous pillows!!  Take a look at these!!

I love them!!  I am getting ready to re-do my family room using a primitive theme and these will be perfect on my new couch!!!  Thank you, Gloria!!!!

Sassy Sponsorship- Anything Goes!

Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Challenges 4 Everybody challenge of "Anything Goes".   I was still in need of another graduation card, so here is my submission for their Anything Goes challenge:

I used SSD's The Graduate image and tried to incorporate the school's colors of blue and gold/yellow. I hope he likes it.  Here's a close-up:

Christmas in July Happy Mail!

I love going to the mailbox when there are fun things in there waiting for me!  Happy mail is always good, but Christmas in July Happy Mail is even better!!!  My friend, Tracy, who is now living in Alaska, sent a Christmas in July package full of wonderful items!!!  Check out what was in my happy mail:

A fabulous hand stitched Grinch mug rug:

Along with the mug rug, she included a brass Christmas tree ornament from North Pole, Alaska, an Alaska Birch Syrup all-day sucker, and a pack of Alaskan Dill Fish Seasoning mix.

She also included a beautiful hand-stamped Christmas card.

Thank you, Tracy, for everything!!!  You are so thoughtful and I really DO appreciate it!!

Sassy Sponsorship

Today is my first day on the Sassy Sponsorship team for this term, and today it's a two-for-oner!!  Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Digi Galore (the challenge is "Holiday") and Artistic Inspirations (the challenge is "Anything Goes").

I decided to make a Halloween card.  SSD has some great Halloween images and it was hard to decide on one but, in the end, I used Sassy Witch.  She is so stunningly beautiful that I decided to leave her uncolored...just sponging some black around the edges and putting a little sparkle gel pen in the spider web on her hat.  It's a very simple card, but I like how the simplicity really makes this gorgeous witch pop off the card!  I hope you like her, too!

This image reminds me so much of  the opening of the old Bewitched TV show of my childhood, that I thought this sentiment went perfectly with the image!  Here's the inside of the card:

Stamps:  Sassy Witch digi  (Sassy Studio Designs), moon digi (unknown), "Utterly Bewitching" digi (known),  digi was combined with computer-generated text to complete sentiment
Paper:  Creamy Caramel, Basic Black (Stampin' Up), Neenah 80# white, patterned paper (Graphic 45)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black (for sponging)
Accessories:  Spica Stardust gel pen, 3-D glitter spider sticker pop dots, 1" black grosgrain ribbon (Offrey)

SSD Anniversary Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to Sassy Studio Design's June release blog hop!  Sassy Studio Designs is celebrating their 4th anniversary in June and SSD's owner and artist, Lindsey, and her husband celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday, so to help in the celebration, we are having an anniversary-themed release.  In honor of SSD's 4-year anniversary, Lindsey has re-created 4 of her older images...Tinker Sassy, Sweet Talk Sassy, Bubblegum Sassy, and Bubble Bath Sassy.  To add to the anniversary aspect of the hop, Kim, our Release Crew Guru, came up with the idea to create a project to celebrate a specific year anniversary.  Each anniversary has a "gift" that is traditionally given for that specific year.  Here is a list of those anniversary gifts...Annivesaries by Year.   There will be two ways for you to win...a random commenter will be picked from each blog to win the image that is featured on that blog.  There is also a second way you can win....if you can figure out which anniversary the project represents!

Okay, first of all, you should have arrived here from Michelle's blog.  If you did, great!  If not, make sure to go back to the SSD Blog and start the hop from the beginning!

Peter Pan was first released in theaters on February 5, 1953 so this is the 60th anniversary of it's release, so I was thrilled to be assigned the re-vamped Tinker Sassy image!  Here is my anniversary card using Tinker Sassy however, I did NOT chose 60th anniversary to use as my anniversary.  That would have been too easy! So, here's my card and you'll have to figure out which year anniversary it represents.  Good luck!

If you were able to figure out which anniversary my card represents, make sure to leave a comment below telling me!!!  Even if you can't figure it out, please leave a comment anyway...either way, you might win this image!!

Your next stop along your anniversary journey will be Lori's blog.  Here is the entire blog hop list just in case you get lost along with way:

DTBS #183- Tag Sale

Well, I've been having some health issues (herniated disk, not able to sit or stand for longer than 5 minutes) so I wasn't able to stamp.  After one series of injections, I am moving quite a bit better and was finally able to go upstairs and try to catch up...however, I didn't get this done in time for SSD's blog post.  Hey, late, but I'm getting there! ;)  Please stop by the Sassy Studio Designs blog to check out what the DT has created for this "tag sale" challenge.

My nephew just recently graduated from high school and this is the card that I made for him.  The challenge this week was to either make a tag or use a tag on our project, so I made a card with a tag.  After not creating for about a month, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.  (Lori Craig, if you're reading this, I colored this image long before our Intermediate Copic Certification class, so just ignore the light blue shadow around the image!)

I used SSD's The Graduate image.  I hope you like it!

Stamps:  The Graduate (Sassy Studio Designs(, graduation circle digi (unknown)
Papers:  Basic Black (Stampin' Up), Neenah 80# white, patterned paper (ABC Primer by Graphic 45)
Ink:  Creamy Caramel for sponging
Accessories:  Copic Markers, sponge, pop dots, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities circle die, Tim Hold Idea-ology Philosphy Tags, glue dot

Doodling...

My dear friend, Gloria, inspired me to start a doodle journal.  I remember doodling on my papers and notebook covers when I was in middle school and this sure brings back a lot of memories!  I'm not good a free-hand drawing but I'm pretty happy with these.  Here are the first two pages in my new doodle journal- one a zentangle and the other just a doodle.

This next one I colored using Faber-Castell PITT big brush pens.

Can't wait to sit and do another one!!

I used Sassy Studio Designs' retired Chelsea Graduation image because she just reminded me so much of my friend!

Stamp:  Chelsea Graduation (Sassy Studio Designs), sentiment is computer-generated
Papers:  Basic Black (Stampin' Up), Neenah White #80, patterned paper (ABC Primer pack from Graphic 45)
Ink:  Creamy Caramel (Stampin' Up) for sponging

COPIC Intermediate Certification!!

***If you are here for the Sassy Studio Designs New Release Blog Hop, click HERE***

Yesterday, I, along with 7 of my wonderful Meade Girls, went to Hanover, Maryland (a 15-mile drive for me!) to take the COPIC Intermediate Certification class!  We had taken the Standard class- all the way up in York, PA back in March 2012, so we were thrilled to FINALLY get to take the Intermediate class- and have it so close to home!  Lori Craig was our instructor...and she was a FABULOUS teacher!!  I do feel that I finally have some knowledge of how to shade and shadow now!  Even though I LOVE the way the gray outline looks around the image, Lori told me that she'd take my certification pin away from me if I ever outlined again!!  So.....guess I won't be doing that again!  ;)  (well, maybe...)

Here are some of the samples that we created...

This was our final project. Although I stressed over the shading and shadowing, I think the final product turned out pretty well!

Here we are, the Meade Girls, along with Lori Craig, with our certificates.  Woo Hoo!

I know I still have to practice, but this class was SO worth the cost!!  I highly recommend it!!!

Make a Wish SSD New Release and Blog Hop

This month of new release theme is anything goes but must include a wish sentiment. Could be a birthday wish, awedding wish, a baby wish, whatever kind of wish you want...just remember we are Sassy Designs...so you can make your sentiment as Sassy-licious as you'd like...You should have arrived here from Lori's blog.  If you didn't please go back to the SSD Blog to start the hop from the beginning!

Lindsey has created several new Disney princess images for us...and I think you'll love them!!!  Our hop this month will only be on one day.

I get to feature Jasmine Pin-up.  Yes, I know Jasmine is supposed to have black hair but I'm still learning how to color black hair.  Actually today I am taking the Copic Intermediate Certification class and am hoping to be able to be better at it after the class!

Okay, I just realized that I dropped the ball with the challenge...I was supposed to include a "wish" sentiment, but I totally forgot it.  Oh, well, too late now!!

Your next stop is Michelle's blog.  Make sure to leave a comment on each blog along the hop.  One commenter will be picked from each blog to win the image that the blog featured, and one commenter will be picked from the SSD blog to win ALL of the images featured in this release!!  So have fun hopping, enjoy the projects the DT has created and leave a comment on each one for a chance to win!!!

Reveal Brunch- Meade Girl-style!

For the past 3 months, the Meade Girls, my wonderfully fun stamping group, have been having a Secret Sister.  Each month we sent a card to our Secret Sister and TRY to guess who it is!  The Meade Girls got together yesterday for brunch at Mimi's Cafe. Oh, my, the food was delicious!  I got the Cinnamon Brioche French Toast with scrambled eggs and bacon.  Yummmy!!  Here are a few pictures of some the girls at brunch:

...and our cute and very attentive server, Brady

My Secret Sister this round has been fabulous!  Check out the cards I've gotten:

February- we were to include a little something in our card to let our SS know that they're thinking of us.  She sent me this fabulous card, and a fun Die-manics die along with a cute little poem.

For March, we're supposed to send a card with green somewhere on it.  It didn't need to be a St. Patrick's Day card, but just have green.  I found this gorgeous birdhouse card in my mailbox on March 1st!

But, then at our March 9th Meade Girl's shoebox swap,  an envelope mysteriously appeared at my seat while I was in the kitchen getting a drink.  Hmm...two fun cards in one month!  She made me this adorable little St. Patrick's Day card and included a $5 scratch off AND an oh-so-cute moose scratcher.  Oh, and I won $10 on the scratch off!  What fun!

Surpisingly enough, I got yet another gorgeous card in March!  Take a look at this!

I am totally blown away by the coloring on this card!  Wow!!!  That image is just so sweet.

Look at this adorable card that I received from my ever-so-talented SS!  Isn't she just adorable???  I love this card!!

Then I received a surprise package in the mail- a belated birthday present.  She sent me a beautiful Art Doodle Journal, a beautiful Cherry Blossom embossing folder, and fabulously "bee-oo-tiful" card:

Here is the card upclose.  LOVE it!!!

Who was my fabulous Secret Sister you ask?  Well, it was none other than.....Gloria!  Here is the reveal card she gave me:

She used Graphic 45's Bird Song paper and wow, this card is stunning!!!  She also gave me this gorgeous Ravens' purple hat that she knitted...

...and this beautiful Christy Tomlinson "SheArt" figurine!  I love Christy's SheArt and I love this!

I kinda had a feeling it was her...just from a few little things- the moose scratcher (she's from Maine), the Bingo scratch-off (we often go to play Pandora Bingo together), she signed one of her cards from "A friend", which she has used before in cards to me, and then the Cherry Blossom embossing folder (we had been talking about getting that folder since Angie used it on one of her cards at our last SBS).   I really did enjoy all of the things she sent me...she is a FABULOUS secret sister.  Thank you!!!!

I really enjoy our get togethers and yesterday was no exception.  I am so lucky and SO blessed to have such a fabulous circle of friends!  Oh, and thanks to Theresa for taking the pictures at our brunch!
