You betcha! I saw a Christmas Card Sketch Challenge on Sparkle's blog here and had to try it! I bought this Impression Obsession stamp at my LSS Create IT Crafts a while back (isn't he just too cute?!) and thought I'd ink him up. The sketch is quick- the hardest thing was deciding on which papers to use!!! I'm not quite sure these colors work- I was pulling colors out of the DP. What do you think? Defintitely NOT your typical Christmas colors!
I used Bashful Blue for the card base which is 5-1/2 x 5-1/2". The DP is unknown. I received it as part of a shoebox swap door prize that I attended. It has the words to O, Christmas Tree on it. I also used SU Barely Banana and Basic Black. I ran the Barely Banana panel through my Cuttlebug using the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. The image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto GP110 white CS and is colored with Copics. I then sponged around the edges of the image using Old Olive. The pink panel is from a retired SU DSP pack. The large black brads are from Michael's. One Christmas card down...and how many to go???
This next card is made using a My Sentiments Exactly stamp set that I received as a gift. It has this rose, a couple of butterflies, several sentiments and a couple other flowers. The card base is SU's Riding Hood Red. I also used SU Basic Black, and Bella Rosa DSP. The white panel is GP110 and the image is stamped using Riding Hood Red and the sentiment is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The black organdy ribbon is from Michael's. I'm on vacation this week (DH will be working!) so I hope to be in my hide-away a LOT this week! :) Check back often to see what I'm up to!
