Ever have one of those days...

...when you just want to stamp and NOTHING goes right?? Well, that was my day today! I'm on vacation this week and while DH is working I can do whatever I want! Well, I wanted to stamp! I decided to make another card using Sherrod Studio's By the Sea set. First off, I cut my base card too small, then I couldn't decide on which papers to use (I just don't know what I'm going to do when all of this pattern paper is gone- I LOVE it!)...then I decided to use the sand pail stamp as the main image, so I stamped it, then promptly dropped the OPEN ink pad on it...so I restamped it...then while coloring it I had a spasm or something that made me color outside the line- luckily the clear Copic marker took care of that! I laid the cut paper pieces down to look for the brown brads and of course, I had forgotten to close the ink pad and laid it right in it! The ink just got on the back of the Chocolate Chip base card, so I was able to turn it and the inside white layer will cover that...THEN I couldn't get ANYTHING straight- including my scan! Oh, well...so, here is the card that took me all day to make! :)
Like I said, I used By the Sea from Sherrod Studio. This is such a fun summer set!! I stamped the image onto GP110 white CS using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the image with my Copics, sponged around the edges using Creamy Caramel and then used the speckle stamp from Itty Bitty Backgrounds set from Stampin' Up, then layered it onto Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery. The base card is Chocolate Chip. The ribbon is 1/4" grosgrain from SU in Certainly Celery. The brown brads are from American Crafts Elements. The DP was embossed in my Cuttlebug using the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder to give it a little dimension. The sentiment was made using 2 seperate stamps from the By the Sea set...and you can see how crooked it is...oh, well, it's handmade so shouldn't be perfect, right?? :) Hopefully my stamping day will go better tomorrow!!!

But, I still had fun and got a great card - your's is great too - and that's what it's really all about! :-)

  11. love that card- know exactly what you mean about a "bad card day"! I had a lady lay her ahem...."rather largely endowed" body parts in black ink (on a white t-shirt!)at a workshop! We all got a laugh out of that one!
