Sweet Dreamers' Challenge # 2- Reuse/Recycle

The Sweet Dreamers' challenge for this week was to create a card using something that you normally would have thrown away. So, this is the card that I created for the challenge:

The card is made using all scrap paper- SU's old Bravo Burgundy, a discarded piece of River Rock, and a left-over piece of SU Bella Rosa DSP. The tag is a price tag from a t-shirt that my husband bought turned over to the blank side. The gold brad was taken off of an old card. The black organdy ribbon was tied around a pair of pajamas I bought last winter (and, being the ribbon-aholic that I am, I wasn't about to throw it away!) The FOREVER "sticker" is from an empty book of Forever postage stamps. I used SU's retired Roses In Winter stamp set. Inks used are Rose Red, Cranberry Crisp, Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi and stamped on a scrap of GP110 white cardstock. Not too bad, I guess! :)

Make sure to keep checking here for upcoming "Sneak Peeks" of Sherrod Studios' new releases available for purchase on August 13th. I can tell you the new sets are WONDERFUL!!

Fantastic job. It's gorgeous and you certainly put to good use a great deal of "toss away" items.

    Love the colors you've chosen.

  7. Awesome job of recycling. I too have scraps, ribbons saved from a previour gift, paper from inside a card and embellishments. Sometime I think if we reallyh looked at all our scraps, it would hold us over for a year to make use of it instead of buying all the time. LOL But who am I kidding the smell of new paper or the dye from the "just got have ribbon" makes sit here and laugh at myself thatI admitted this. LOL! Great card love the layout!
