Christmas Card of the Week- Drummer Boy

Happy Sunday! I hope that it's warm wherever you's pretty cold here in Maryland!!

I was able to get into my hide-away and get some much needed stamping time in today! Here is my Christmas Card of the Week:

The image is Little Drummer Boy from High Hopes Stamps. He is stamped onto GP110 white cardstock and colored using Copic Markers. I've had him colored for quite a while now, but finally got around to making a card with it. The sentiment is also from High Hopes. All papers are from Stampin' Up- Cranberry Crisp, Brocade Blue and Creamy Caramel. I also used a small scrap of very old SU designer paper from several Christmases ago. I distressed all the edges and also embossed the Creamy Caramel panel using SU's Square Lattice embossing folder.

I'm really liking getting a Christmas card per week done!! I now have 5 cards done, so at this rate, I'll have plenty of Christmas cards done by November to send out to friends and family!

Please stop by again on Tuesday for my Two 4 Tuesday blogpost. See you again soon!

I thought I'd try to "catch up" on some birthday cards. I have no idea who makes this image. I stamped it off of a friend's set one day when a group of us got together to stamp. It's a fun image, though! If anyone knows who makes it, please let me know and I will give proper recognition.

I love the Real Red and YoYo Yellow together. I embossed the YoYo Yellow panel using my Cuttlebug and the Numbers embossing folder. The image is stamped onto GP110 white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored using Copic Markers. What fun it was to color! It was punched out using Nesties in the Cuttlebug. (I still have trouble getting the embossed edge to show, though). The ribbon was a scrap I had laying on my desk. I'm sure it's from Offray. The flower, from Petaloo, is a perfect match to the YoYo Yellow. The Real Red button is from Stampin' Up. I attached stick-on pearls as earrings on the one lady and I gave the other lady a huge ruby ring. I hope my friend likes it!!
If you're getting snow like we are here in Maryland, stay safe and warm!!
EDIT: I found out that the image is from Inky Antics. Thanks, Rose! :)

What's Up? Visiting the Past...

I was looking through my Splitcoast Gallery today- about 6 years worth of cards. It's amazing how the colors, embellishments, and style of cardmaking has changed over the years.

Here are a few of my very favorite cards from my past:

This card above, I think is my all-time favorite. I love the colors and the rose from A Rose in Winter is such a pretty stamp.

Cool Cat is also another fun stamp to use. Cool Carribean, one of the first "In Colors", was a favorite color of mine. I still miss it!

The stamp set on the card above is from Hanna Stamps. When I first got my motorcycle, I always said I wanted to paint it pink. I didn't, but this card was still fun to make!

Penguins are always fun and this image from SU's Happy Healing set is SO cute! Poor little guy looks miserable!

This stamp set is called Pattern of Friendship and is from Stampin' Up. I love the retro look to it. It reminds me of the dress patterns my mom used to use when she made our clothes.
So, that's my stroll down memory lane and I hope you've enjoyed strolling with me! If you'd like to check out my SCS gallery, click here.

Two 4 Tuesday- Hambo!

Happy Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!! Today's "Two 4" are the 2 cards that I submitted for the Hambo Stamps Design Team Call. They emailed me two very cute digi images- Spring Bunnies and Wee Henry Hockey- that I was to use on my application projects. Both cards are 5-1/4" square.

For this card, I printed the Spring Bunnies image onto GP110 white cardstock and colored it using my Copic Markers- RV02,Y11,B21, C3, E71, W1, W3). The card base is SU's Chocolate Chip with a layer of Bashful Blue. The patterned paper is some unknown DP that I received in a Blog Candy. I thought the colors were perfect for a springy Easter card. I popped the image up using pop dots and applied pink stick-on rhinestones from Bling-It. The flowers are Primas which were applied using pop dots. This image is adorable and it was so much fun to color!

The cute little guy on my next card is Wee Henry. This digi set comes with Henry and 2 sentiments- "Thanks for the assist!" and "I hope you score big on your birthday!". I struggled with this card trying to make it a little more masculine...

Again, the image was printed onto GP110 white cardstock. Henry is colored using my Copic Markers (E00, W3, B92, R29, W1, W2, 100, E71). The card base is a textured card that I received in a Blog Candy, so it is unknown. I then layered SU's Basic Black and Real Red. The two patterned papers are from the Majestic Blue set of DP from Close To My Heart. I cut Henry and the hockey puck out and attached them to the card. I then attached the sentiment to a Modern Label punchout and then attached a button from BoBunny and 3 dew drops to the right corners.

Even though I wasn't selected for the upcoming design team, I want to thank Hambo Stamps for the opportunity. LOVE their stamps and images!! If you've never seen them, check 'em out here!

Christmas Card of the Week X 2

So, since I was too lazy to make a Christmas card for last week, I made two this week. While rummaging through my stash of designer paper, I found the Christmas pack that SU offered in the Holiday mini- unopened, of course, since I am still a paper, I decided to make 2 cards using the same exact supplies- Real Red, Blushing Bride, GP110 white and Basic Black cardstock, the glitter-striped pattern paper from the holiday mini designer paper pack and some red glitter adornments from My Favorite Things that match the red glitter stripe in the DP perfectly!

The first card was made using Pink Gem's adorable Gingerbread Man digi-image. Isn't he cute? And he's so much fun to color! Oh, and he's also on sale right now! The Warm Hugs sentiment is from Sherrod Studios.

The second card was made using a Stamps By Judith stamp called Lg. Happy Snowman (T-33). He's so cute! The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Hannah Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!!

What's Up? Design D.I.V.A.S. OBG Blog Hop!

I was lucky enough to be invited to join the Design D.I.V.A.S. group on Facebook. We are 75 of THE most talented stampers and I am honored to be among such talent! The group has decided that on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, we will have a blog hop. I love blog hops and this one should be lots of fun- 36 blogs to check out! You should have arrived here from Gina Lindsay's blog. If you didn't, start here so you don't miss anything exciting!!!

The theme is "Oldies But Goodies". If you're like me, I buy stamps, papers, and embellishments, and then many sit unused. For this swap, we are to create a project- a card, a 3-D item, a scrapbook layout, etc.- using stamping supplies that are at least 6-months old. I have so many stamps that have never seen ink, packs of designer paper that are unopened, and a plethora of ribbon that could use some love...and that made it really hard for me to decide which unloved items to use! But, after much deliberation, here is what I came up with:

I bought this stamp set, Sew Pretty, from Gina K, a long time ago...I had never used it for a card, even though I love it. I also bought the "Nook and Pantry" patterned paper from Basic Grey, nearly a year ago. I admit, I'm a paper hoarder. I buy pretty paper and then can't seem to bring myself to cut into it! This card is 5-1/4" square. Cardstock used: SU's Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. Patterned paper: Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry. Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black. Embellishments: Light green Dew Drops, yellow flower from Petaloo, green satin ribbon from Offray, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon from SU. Accessories: SU's medium and scalloped oval punches, pop dots, Copic markers- E47, RV02, G31, E21, ZOTS glue dots, Alene's Jewel-It glue.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you've enjoyed my "Oldies But Goodies" card. Your next stop on the hop is Sandy H.'s blog. Wait till you see what she has in store for you!

Two 4 Tuesday- Ebony and Ivory

I decided that this week's Two 4 Tuesday would be the color combination "Ebony and Ivory"-Basic Black and Very Vanilla...and of course, the whole time I'm making these cards, I could "hear" Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney singing Ebony and Ivory! Now, that song is stuck in my head! I'm also "stuck" on Stampin' Up's Newsprint Designer Paper. It's just SO cool!!

The first card I made for my great-nephew's birthday. He's turning 14 and he's at the age that I can't make him "kiddie" cards anymore, so I decided to go with a hot rod-themed card.

The hot rod image is from Bombshell Stamps. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Hanna Stamps.

This next card I made for my brother and his wife's anniversary.

I'm not sure who makes this stamp, but I bought it on my first trip to Hobby Lobby.

I hope you've enjoyed my Two 4 Tuesday cards this week. Check back tomorrow for "What's Up?" I'll have something FUN for you!!

Meade Girls Swap!

Well, yeterday I was supposed to post my Christmas Card of the Week...but I didn't. This was a very busy weekend for me...Friday night I went to Pandora Bingo- I didn't win anything, but had a great time! Saturday was the Meade Girls' shoebox swap- again, had a wonderful time! LOTS of great cards! You'll see them in a minute! Saturday after the swap we watched the Ravens play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs...and we lost. :( Sunday, when I should have posted my Christmas card, was a rest, my Christmas Card was not published due to laziness on my part! I never even got it made!! So, I promise to post TWO Christmas cards next Sunday!!!

Now, like I said, Saturday I spent most of the day stamping with 21 of the most fabulous ladies! There was a lot of chatting, a lot of eating, and lots of craziness going on!! But, we also made some wonderful cards, and here they are...

Here's the card that I took to the swap for the ladies to make (yes, you've already seen this once...)

Here are the cards that the other ladies brought for us to make. I hope I have all of the names right...

Michelle D.

(The elephant was stamped onto gray velvet paper- how cool!)

(LOVE this January sentiment!)

(not quite sure how she got a picture of ME exercising!)

Pete (aka Evelyn)
(this card won the prize for the PITA card, but it really wasn't a PITA!)

Paula R.

Michelle G.

(this was supposed to have a layer of purple between the green card and the yellow panel, but I forgot to put it on...)

(as cold as it is here, I wish I was at the beach!! A nice sunny, WARM beach!)

(this sentiment is SO true!!)

(our hostess!)

Amanda has already scheduled our next Meade Girls' swap for April, and I can hardly wait!!! Thanks, Amanda, for hosting a FABULOUS swap!!!
I hope to see you tomorrow for my Two 4 Tuesday post!

What's Up? Hambo DT Call!

Hambo Stamps has THE cutest images and funny sayings...and they're having a Design Team Call! So, I decided to go ahead and apply. I figured what's the worse that could happen? I am in the second part of the process which is to create a card or other project using 2 different digital images- Spring Bunnies, which is a group of adorable bunny rabbits on springs and Wee Henry Hockey, a cute little hockey player. I am currently working on the cards that I will submit using these adorable images. I'll post them once they're done.

In the meantime, here are a couple of cards that I made a while ago using Hambo stamps and images.
If you'd like to apply for the Hambo Design Team, here is the link to the application process. Even if you don't want to apply for the DT, go check out their stamps and digi images. You won't be disappointed!

Two 4 Tuesday- Pink Gem Designs!

Happy Two 4 Tuesday! (Hey, did you notice today's date? It's 1-11-11! Today, I have two cards- both made with images from Pink Gem Designs. I discovered this fabulous stamp company about a year ago. They offer the cutest polymer stamps, digi-images, and digi papers. The company is located in England, but don't let that scare you. They are very quick to ship and there is even a dollar conversion chart right on their website so you know exactly how much you're paying. I have had nothing but good luck when ordering from them!

Now, on to the cards...

This card is made using Pink Gem's Reindeer and Robin image. Isn't he the sweetest thing? Papers are all from Stampin' Up. The image is colored with Copic Markers. I used red glitter adornments from My Favorite Things for his nose and in each corner. In real life, they are so much redder and brighter than they're showing on the scan. The sentiment is from a Sherrod Studio holiday set, but unfortunately, they are no longer in business.

This next card is also made using a Pink Gem image called Robin with Mistletoe.

Again, all papers are from Stampin' Up and the image is colored with Copic Markers. These images are SO much fun to color! I think I will put some Stickles on the "snowflakes" on both cards and I'm sure my friend, Dawnmarie, will tell me I need to put some white flocking on the bird's hat and scarf. (I don't have any flocking, but DM is bringing me some this weekend!)
I hope that you've enjoyed these 2 cards and that you'll check out Pink Gem Designs. Oh, and they have a sale going on right now! Go check 'em out!
I'll see you tomorrow for "What's Up?"

Christmas Card of the Week- # 2

It's Sunday again, and that means it's time for my Christmas Card of the Week!

I found this cute little Santa Mouse image on a site of coloring pages. Elizabeth O. Dulemba draws adorable images and you can download them for free on her site here. I printed the image onto Whisper White cardstock and colored it using my Copic markers. I then cut it out using my Nestabilities in my Cuttlebug. The cardstock used is Stampin' Up's Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp and one of the Christmas DSPs from the Holidays mini. The gold ribbon is from Offray and the cranberry-colored stick-on gems are from Recollections. I think it turned out cute.

Remember to come back on Tuesday for my Two 4 Tuesday blog post! Not quite sure what I'll do yet, but I'm sure something will come to mind before then! :) Thanks for stopping by!

What's Up? ZINDORF!

One day I was surfing Splitcoaststampers looking at cards and this card jumped off the screen at me!!

This fabulous card is a Michelle Zindorf original creation. Michelle is an absolute wizard with the brayer and I am totally in awe of her talent! While visiting her blog, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw that she, the wonderfully talented Michelle Zindorf, was coming to Maryland to do some brayering workshops!!!!

I immediately emailed my fellow Meade Girl, Gloria, to tell her the wonderful news!!!! I am THRILLED to say that both Gloria and I have signed up to take Michelle Zindorf's brayering workshop when she comes to Owings Mills in July! Gloria, and I are taking both the beginner and the advanced brayering classes on July 9th! I can only hope that I can be HALF as good as Michelle is once I've taken her classes! If you've never seen Michelle's work, check it out here. If you're interested in taking her brayering workshops when she comes to Maryland, click here.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Two 4 Tuesday- # 1

"It's Two Fer Tuesday, Hon!" (said in my best Baltimore accent.)

With Valentine's Day being our next card holiday, I decided to make two Valentines using my yet unused "Greeting Card Kids" stamp set from Stampin' Up.

To color or not to color? That was the, I did one card where I colored the image using my Copic Markers, and one card where I left the image uncolored (well, almost!). So, without further adieu, here are my Two 4 Tuesday cards:

On January 15th, I will be attending the next Meade Girls' Shoebox Swap. The red and black card above is the card that I will be taking to the swap for the girls to make. Shhh....don't tell anyone!! :)
Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you've enjoyed my "Two 4 Tuesday" cards today! Hope to see you again soon!!

Christmas Card of the Week- # 1

Here is my first Christmas Card of the Week. It's a very simple card. I actually made some like this to send as New Years' Cards to my friends.

The cardstock used is Stampin' Up's Buckaroo Blue, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White. I embossed the white panel using the Snowflake embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. The glittery felt snowflake is from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is from a Sherrod Studio winter set, and punched out using the Modern Label punch.

Well, it's January 2nd, and I already have ONE Christmas card made for next year! Woo Hoo! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

My Blog Resolutions...

Happy New Year!!!!!! Last year, I was hit-or-miss with my blog postings. I want to change that this year and post on a more regular basis. With the ringing in of 2011, I have some blog resolutions to help get me posting more regularly. Here’s what I have planned…beginning tomorrow, January 2nd, I will add the following “special days” to my blog:

Christmas Card of the Week

Each Sunday I will post a Christmas card of the week. This will (hopefully) help me have all of my Christmas cards made in plenty of time- SO unlike this year!

“Two 4 Tuesday”

Each Tuesday, I will post 2 cards using the same stamp, 2 cards made using the same technique, 2 cards made using the same color palette, 2 cards made using the same sketch, or some other combination of 2 that I can come up with.

What’s up?? Wednesday

Each Wednesday I will post about something that’s happening…could be a new technique I’ve learned, or something happening with my design team…not quite sure how it’ll go, yet, but we’ll have to wait and see how it evolves!

I hope that you will visit regularly to see what I have to share, not only on these special days, but other days as well.

Here’s wishing you have a safe and Happy New Year!
